We came here by recommendation of a family member. So my expectations were already raised. upon entering, we were shown to a seat quiet quickly. The place had a nice atmosphere and it was fairly full, buzzing with chatter and people eating. We both went for OMG breakfast, a cappuccino and a fruit smoothie. When the breakfast was served it looked absolutely amazing. It looked very neat, carefully crafted and colourful. The scrambled egg was just right and not soggy, although did lack a bit more seasoning. The Cumberland sausage was tasty, although the streaky bacon lacked a bit of flavour. Aside from that, the combination of fruit and pancakes with syrup, fresh cream cut finished me off nicely and I was just full. It was like having a meal and desert all on one plate. I wanted to remove from my order: Clotted cream and fruit pot Cooked tomato And sausages
And I wanted to add: Sujuk Extra mushroom And poach me eggs instead of fried.

And the puddings -sorry, "desserts" looked posh, too.. with cream and fresh fruit.
A nice open space at the front with planters of real geraniums, lavender and roses. New looking balustrades of recycled plastic.
Food and decor is posher than the name suggests but more down to earth that the other Crouch End cafes -or "Bistros" as they like to be called.
I'd be curious to know if fried bread is on the menu -or is that...
