I had such high hopes for this place... how disappointing. My search for a good local coffee /breakfast spot continues.

My general feeling about the service was that the staff didn’t seem to realise they were running a cafe. Very aloof, distracted and almost standoffish. I asked for poached eggs (which was on the menu) and was told that the kitchen only had scrambled or fried at this time?! :/ I will leave you to draw your own conclusions from this strange scenario! After ordering two breakfasts for me and my friend, mine arrived so quickly it would have been impossible to actually cook it in the time. No surprise that the bacon was dry and hard and cold, and the waffles had been warmed up from a bag, not homemade! I had asked for ‘no ice cream’ with my waffles, but they put baked beans on there instead?!? My friends food however had not arrived 20 minutes later, and no staff had said anything to us. In fact they looked perplexed when we asked them for an update. It was eventually deciphered by the confused staff that our second breakfast had not been sent through to the kitchen for some reason, and that the kitchen was now closed so we would not be able to have any food at all. Oh dear. My friend has now sat watching me pick at my sad plate of food for half an hour but will have to leave on an empty stomach. Strangely themed place too with odd references to the commonwealth and muddled fusion menu. Coffee...

The food was very tasty and well presented and reasonably priced, the commonwealth theme has also a added touch however most of their posters, photos and other artifacts are from India and haven't seen or noticed anything from other countries apart from bunting of Bangladesh flags. I think they should have artifacts and other items of interest from the countries they serve food from on their menu. They need to sort out their extractor fans because eating in will makes your clothes stink/smell of cooking and it penetrates through your body not just your clothes. They also needs to pay attention on cleaning as the tables I sat on were sticky to touch and when cup and saucer was placed it also stuck on the table. You can also see electric cables with insulation tape from the ceiling not sure if it is safe? Over all I will go there again but only for takeaway food and definitely not to dine in unless extractor fans are sorted and cooking smell has gone along with general cleaning of the...

Following ordering this afternoon we sat down to a table that was dirty. Asking the lady who served us if it was possible to have the table cleaned we was handed a cloth and spay across the counter from where she was sat and asked to clean it ourselves as table service was not included in the price. Following asking for what that exactly meant, she proceeded to come to the table reluctantly wiping it whilst explaining that there is no tabIe service and if they were to charge for the table service (cleaning of the table) prices of the food would have to go up. Honestly absolutely lost as to what has gone in here. Have ate in some questionable establishments but never ever once have I been asked to wipe the food off the table of the previous customer. We work opposite and easily spend £30-£40 here a go when there’s 3 of us and to be asked to clean someone else mess from the table cloth is an absolute joke. Maybe leave a cloth for the people eating to wipe up after themselves if it’s that much...

It’s called,‘Blighty’, and their strap line reads, “a very British cafe’.’ Na-a! It’s rundown. This is, in my opinion, a slur against quintessentially British good taste. The first impression I got when entering Blighty, was, it was ‘unkempt’. I found absolutely no redeemable features whatsoever. It wasn’t shabby chic, (I can take that), it’s just shabby. If the owner’s aim was, to make the place ‘down to earth’ and cosy, I believe they’ve failed on both counts. It’ looks like no one cares, and that anything is good enough. It’s gloomy, and has the appearance, to me at least, of being unclean. Perhaps the owner(s) think that’s what Tottenham residents want! Well, this Tottenham resident most certainly does not. All the furnishings are paltry. The whole place looks like no one cares. I instantly took a dislike to it. The cafe reflects badly on ‘Blighty,’ (England), actually. It’s not at all representative of English good taste and class.

Bad coffee and slightly weird vibe that celebrates ‘blighty’ and specifically the ‘commonwealth’ (photos of English people riding elephants during the Raj etc). I have bought both beans and takeaway coffee from here. The beans were a horrible bitter oily dark roast. Some of the worst I’ve had. The takeaway coffee is very hit and miss. There are way way better places to drink coffee in Tottenham. I won’t return to this place.
