The Post Bar — Restaurant in London

Went on a Saturday night for a friends's bday. I loved the atmosphere, it felt more like a house party than an organised event. The crowd was friendly, unreserved and most people where dancing to the mix of latin, jazz, funk and 70s west African afrobeat sounds. Althought the event was sold out, there was still a generous space to dance, which I found very considerate on behalf of the organisers. As for the space, there is a bar when you enter on your left, with a variety of beers, spirits and some food options. The room at the other end, serving as the dancing area, is divided from the bar with a crimson theatre curtain. The dj booth is facing the crowd from the the far end. Security preoccupied, talking to their mates out on the street, and run in after you, if you step in the door, as if you committed a crime by going in ?

Maybe going in here is a crime, ha!

Bartenders irritable and cliquey, like they're doing you a favor by serving you. Serving you what? Expensive, poorly kept beer. Bad cocktails. On dirty, sticky tables.

The food is stodgy and the meat overcooked.

Wish the owner was around more, as things are clearly sliding.

Pity, Post Bar was a good place for a while.

My husband and I came to watch a band play and we had such s great time. Prior to us coming I was a little anxious about the night as I’m 8 months pregnant and knew I needed a corner with a table and chairs just in case it got too crowded. Even though the post bar don’t usually take bookings they made an exception for me and reserved a comfy sofa and table for us to enjoy the night. We really appreciated this. We didn’t eat much just an empanada and some churros but they were both good. We will be back to try out the food and enjoy the outdoor area too as it’s quite spacious and has a nice...
