Well where do I start. This has to be the worst service/food I have ever experienced in London or anywhere. We booked a table an hour before arriving. When we arrived we were advised they were fully booked (despite there being many empty tables and with a confirmed booking). We were asked to wait while a table was made ready. We were seated around a corner which was quite out of the way but very quiet and comfortable to be fair. A little bit of a wait for drinks and we then ordered our food. I ordered chicken Sunday roast and my husband and daughter ordered the dirty burgers. My husband and daughter do not like mayonnaise and nowhere on the menu did it state the burgers would be dressed with mayo. The food arrived and my husband and daughter were disappointed that their burgers were cooked medium (not asked beforehand how they would like them cooked) and slathered in mayonnaise. My husband had to send his back to be remade. I have to say mine was a very far cry from a Sunday roast. A small chicken breast sliced with chips (not roast potatoes) a small amount of veg and an extremely stale and inedible Yorkshire pudding. My daughter scraped the mayo off her burger and we both began to eat our meals. We were almost finished twenty minutes later and my husband's food had still not arrived. I went to enquire and was told the manager would come to speak to us. A further 5 minutes and I had to go looking for staff again. They had forgotten about us. By this stage my husband and daughter had got up to leave when a waiter appeared with my husband's burger. He refused the burger and the manager then appeared full of apologies. An awful experience from start to finish. The food is not worth the price and the service is appalling. They did say we could leave without paying which was welcome but still totally unacceptable for central London. Avoid...
Read moreDining at Bob Bob Ricard City was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were transported into a world of refined elegance, where every detail—down to the lighting and table settings—felt meticulously curated for a luxurious yet inviting experience. The service was impeccable, striking that perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion.
And the food—where do I even begin? Each dish was a work of art, both visually and in taste. The beef wellington was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The lobster macaroni was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming. The caviar-topped starters were equally delightful, adding a lavish touch to an already decadent meal. And of course, no visit would be complete without pressing the iconic “Press for Champagne” button—a playful, whimsical detail that added charm and sparkle to an already memorable night.
The ambiance strikes a rare chord: it’s sophisticated without being stuffy, romantic without being overly formal. The combination of plush booths, glimmering brass, and soft jazz in the background created the ideal setting for an unforgettable evening filled with laughter and warmth.
Now, here’s the funny part: I was so caught up in the evening’s magic that I only realized after getting home—I’d forgotten the waistcoat to my suit jacket! Clearly, the night was so enjoyable, even my outfit decided to loosen up a little.
To anyone considering an evening here: don your best attire (or at least most of it), bring good company, and prepare for a truly exceptional and delightfully...
Read moreFood was pretty good but service was probably the worst we had in the UK during our 10-day stay.
I came in and talked to a manager around 6 pm and told him we’d be dining there for my daughter’s birthday around 7:30. He told us they’d set up a table for 5 in front of the gin cabinets and bring out a tray of assorted sweets (on the house).
We were running late so I called and said we’d be in closer to 8. I was told that would be no problem. Sure enough, we get there and our table had been given away. (OK, that’s understandable). There were no large tables left so they crammed us in at one of the small lounge tables (not a big deal but don’t tell me it’s no problem if it kinda is a problem.)
Already long story short — the waitress disappeared for long stretches and our meal dragged on for ages. And the sweet tray? Yeah, you guessed it — never arrived. But by that time, we had no intention of staying another minute. But two wrongs don’t...
