Cafe Fresco — Restaurant in London

This is a lovely café run by some wonderful people who continue to provide delicious espresso, lunches, and snacks. It's extremely good value, you never have to queue very long, and the food is great. Perfect for a quick pitstop for lunch. There's a very small espresso bar to stand and sip at, and a few seats outside, but definitely more of a grab-and-go kind of place.

For my sweet tooth the sweets and pastels are the star of the show - delicious pastéis de nata and Florentines that go great with an espresso.

I ended up here by accident on Saturday at 4 pm, it was a nice warm day. I wanted to avoid the crowds coming from Victoria Station. A kind older gentleman suggested a chicken and chorizo panini with cheese, all toasted, along with a drink and chips, priced at £5.90. Considering it's in the center of London, it's a great deal. I've always found it ok when I've been in the past but just bought a pasta pesto & chicken salad which was handed to me by the server from behind the counter, only to open it on my way home and find the chicken tasted awful. On inspecting the lid for the best before date, it should have been binned 2 days earlier!! Not the day before...2 whole days. That's not acceptable service for any eatery. It makes me wonder what else they're slacking on and how long their "fresh" ciabattas etc have...
