Good set-up and ambience. We went in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The place was relatively empty. We were received by a waiter and taken to a table. We wanted to have veal sausages with pretzels for which he informed that they were out of pretzels and i asked if we can have it with chips instead, on which he mentioned that he'll have to go and ask the chef. He came back a couple of minutes later saying that they can do it. Great! We asked for veal schintzels with sides and chicken schintzels with sides on which we were told that they don't have veal schintzels. We asked if we can have it with chicken schintzels but with the same sides as veal schintzels on which he had to go and ask the chef again. He came back after a couple of mins saying that they can't do it. So i and for 2x chicken schintzels with sides to add to veal sausages, on which he said that he already mentioned that they don't have veal. I felt daft and told him that he said that they don't have pretzels and now he is saying that he doesn't have sausages either. At this point he started to raise his voice and get animated in the way he was responding. I had to ask him to calm down and mind his tone. We ended up ordering lunch menus with chicken schintzels after all. The ordering process took a good 20 mins with a waiter who was clearly very new at his job. We received the food had it and when asked for the bill he ended up messing up the payment as well and charged us only 10%. I paid without noticing then he had to come back telling us he didn't charge is the full account. At end of it all it was a bad experience with poor service abs mediocre food. Hopefully it will be better and we will have the infamous veal as well.

As a German, was rather disappointed. Food is okay but nothing like the original. Staff is pretty demotivated and bland. We were told off for not following covid restrictions a couple of times (fair enough!) but the same waitress kept taking her mask of when talking to us (directly in our faces!) - not cool at all. Interior is okay and prices are good for the amount of food as well - no German music at although which would be one of the key features at such a restaurant in Germany. Staff was overall mediocre but super unfriendly when we left in the end. We were a large group and couldn’t figure out who the last two beers on our huge bill belonged to at the end of the night. Instead of helping us or just writing them off, the waitress just blamed those of our group that left earlier and discussed for half an hour with us that we were mistaken. May have been our or the staff’s mistake but finding the culprit who did not pay £10 was apparently more important than customer loyalty of a huge group that spent several hundred pounds at the club that night...

Bierkeller experience! Went to the Munich cricket club here for some lunch and the best beer in the world! German beer. As expected it is in a Keller in a very much Bavarian decor. Enjoyable, good choice of the German beers in either pint size or proper stein sizes! We ordered the food, on this occasion the feuer wurst. It came with potato salad (German favourite) and sauerkraut (German national identifier food). I have to say having been to Germany on a number of occasions. Spot on! Beer was also excellent and crisp! All in all very good. Deduct a mark for service, although the waitress was dressed in the traditional dress, a smile was definitely missing!

What an entirely nasty place 🤢 this might have been the nastiest meal I have ever had and I’m not being dramatic. My friend and I ordered my favorite dish (currywurst) and it was legitimately a cold sausage with the wateriest nastiest sauce on top of soggy fries. Not even cut up. A pretzel with this nasty cheese sauce not even mixed properly together. Our waitress was so rude and unconcerned, when she came by none of our food was remotely touched. Didn’t ask why we didn’t eat it and just awkwardly took it away. When she came back my friend politely told her that the currywurst was not good or anything remotely like a currywurst and she just looked at us dumbfounded and said “ok(with about a 10 second pause) what do you want me to do about it?) it was so awkward and confusing and uncomfortable we all just couldn’t help but laugh. When she came back we told her once more I’m so sorry, there’s no way we can pay for this, it’s disgusting (mind you we had drinks and other friends also got entrees) she didn’t say anything or apologize and just walked away came back with revised bill and we had our cards down to split, she didn’t even grab them to put them in the machine, literally gave us the most attitude ever and was like “you can put it in the machine” in the rudest tone, not a goodbye at the end, not an apology, not a thank you. Just straight up huffs and walks away. My friend and I actually came home after just a few nibbles of our food completely nauseated and threw up!!! This place actually smells like sewage and musty and should have been a warning from the beginning but I was so excited to go to a German restaurant while I was...

Pros: the food, the beers, and the bar and food staff are excellent. Could not have been happier with the food and service.

Cons: the music was so loud it was very difficult to have a conversation throughout the evening, and our evening was ended very abruptly by security trying to close the bar early. Despite us having asked and been told by staff that closing time was 12am (and we had ordered last orders to arrive for just before half past at the staff's request), at 11.35pm the bouncer decided to tell us to drink up and get out (we were pretty much the last customers left, apart from one other table).

He then proceeded to make sarcastic comments about how it "wasn't school time" as we'd been reading a comedy book out loud between us quite amiably, and we were obliged to pretty much down our drinks and leave in a matter of minutes. Given that we'd been perfectly respectful customers and not drunkenly misbehaving, unlike a number of earlier punters dancing on tables and smashing steins on other tables which security didn't seem to step in over, it was a really crummy end to my partner's birthday drinks. To be essentially thrown out, having bought a round for 5 people following the bar staff's lead, and having to end the evening early by being chastised was not on, and we felt a bit cheated and like we'd wasted our money on those drinks.

I'm not sure I'd come again for a special occasion, despite the food being good. It rather ruined it for us all. Go for a lunchtime and enjoy the good food and beer, but maybe not...
