Blugate Restaurant — Restaurant in London

I came here for the first time on Monday 5 June 2023 with my friend. The waiters are very polite, very welcoming and let us choose where we want to sit which was a great start because I hate restaurants that stick you on a tiny table just because there is only 2 of you. The mixed meat platter was delicious and so much food we could not eat it all so after asking for the bill the waiter offered to give us 3 boxes to put the food in and take home. The bread came in a basket and lots of small plates of different dips came first, they were all delicious too. I ordered a pina colada cocktail which was a white colour that looked more like Lemonade, it was still very nice but too much ice and not enough juice. The atmosphere is very nice, lovely music. The restaurant is very clean and has the most beautiful looking clean toilets with marble walls and floors. The whole restaurant is stunning and looks like something in the west end so it is so good to have such a wonderful restaurant with fantastic, friendly staff in Tottenham. I was very impressed with their extensive list of cocktails and so many different food to choose from. It's a great night out in a local area. It would be great if the employees and footballers at Tottenham Hotspurs Football Stadium came to eat here and to have business lunches/dinners and especially any famous musicians who do concerts at the stadium so I think the restaurant owner and their promotions team should contact the stadium by email/phone and send them leaflets, etc to promote their restaurant to them and work together because my friend and I went to Lady Gaga concert last year and even though we ate in the VIP lounge/restaurant the food in the stadium was terrible. Sorry to say that we had a really poor dining experience here last night, before a gig at the stadium. We pre booked and arrived in good time, but arrived to a restaurant that was clearly struggling to manage the full tables and queue waiting outside. Having been finally given a table, it took 20+ minutes for it to be cleaned and longer for our orders to be taken. It was only cleaned after my friend started to take the old plates up to the bar and went to clean the table herself.

Drinks arrived, after numerous prompts, about 30 minutes in. A couple next to us just started going up to the bar and getting their drinks themselves!

We then got accused of skipping the queue and sitting down at the table uninvited. We waited over an hour for our food, some of which arrived looking like it had been plated up for an hour anyway. It was warm but not worth the wait. We had to get the attention of servers at every stage. They were clearly stressed, but sadly this compromised all customer service skills, as we were offered minimal apologies for any delays and felt ignored the whole duration of the meal.

The whole time, servers continued to seat new people in the queue and ignore us. It was bizarre.

We explained our disappointment to the manager upon looking to pay for the bill, and was told that we could only have a 10% discount because we "should have known" that service would not be as good as normal, and longer, because of how busy it was! In which case, we should have been informed of the reduced quality of service and extended wait period upon arrival- we would have gone elsewhere!

I would not recommend dining here before a show. They cannot handle full capacity of their tables, the customer service is poor, and the food is not...

To start if I could put a - Star I would. We sat waiting for food whilst other people came in and was seated a served including food. As we was 2 ladies we was ignored. We asked for our food it arrived. It was wrong! Waited another 20min asked again food came back same food we explained that was not what we ordered waited another 20min same food came again..... by now I can't believe what is happening then they say they run out of rice so gave me something else even though that not what we ordered!!! Shocked sat for an hour ignored for most of it RUDE service and then told food we order is run out so they pick something else for us!! NEVER again! They have hours of service left I feel sorry for the full tables just sat down because what they order and what they get (eventually) is 2 different things. Please and if you see the state of what turned up! 18.00 for chips and shish meat no salad no rice no nothing just a few cubes of meat and dry chips......... and remember that is not what ypu even ordered.........
