BOBA 1+1 (台灣1+1茶舍) — Restaurant in London

I was a little skeptical at first with a local independent bubble tea place, but after looking at their menu on the Google maps app, it seemed quite promising delivering fresh ingredients rather than powders and some traditional flavours served up in a bubble tea beverage.

I ordered their ‘plant on’ series which I found to be a cute concept. I had their Hokkaido tea with original cream topped with Oreo crumbs. With less sugar, this was a perfect sweetness that brought out that vanilla taste of the Hokkaido tea. I thoroughly enjoyed it with the sips of cream. Pearls are very soft and chewy, just as I expect for high quality bubble tea. Thus, I am satisfied.

Cute cozy shop (except no AC on). My friend got this iced tea thing - really great tea-y flavour, apparently it’s homemade specifically engineered recipe with tea + crushed ice + jam(?) paste, apparently the owner said it’s also handpicked tea leaves from Taiwan, super great flavour, fruity and refreshing. I got Dirty Taro + boba - good real taro paste, though it’s not taro pieces which is available for the other Fresh Taro Milk option. I loved that it’s not too sweet. I ordered no sugar because usually it’s have already been too sweet, but with this I would recommend going for “less sugar” and the sweetness would have been perfect, because there’s no added syrup etc which is great. I go here once or twice every week because I have therapy nearby, and not only is the bubble tea the best in london (imo), the owner is the nicest man ever. he’s very friendly and always asks how i’m doing, and it’s fun to see how the bubble tea is made. the shop also sells various bubble tea makers, and this cute sweet potato figure that i’m saving up to buy. there are also some pots with different tea leaves in them to smell, which I think is a lovely touch. The selection of bubble tea is great, you can find anything you want from brown sugar milk tea to fizzy lychee bubble tea. if I could give it more than 5...
