Been ordering here in person over the years Never had a bad experience until today. This time it was ridiculous. Ordered online for pick up came to collect 1hour later. No order went through they stated online doesn’t work. I said how is someone at home supposed to know it doesn’t work when everything went through?!? Staff seemed annoyed at me for speaking up. I said forget it and lady said wait it’s coming. So I waited another 15mins. Food came and the fish had no garnish at all(onions&Tomatoes) and my special instructions ignored. What’s is more annoying Food bland. Not worth the money. Will have been good to be offered a discount for the inconvenience. Rude and obnoxious man at front desk too. No sense of social distancing and very abrupt. Won’t be eating here for a long while. Maybe standards will be better.

1. A dedicated space to wash your hands. You do not need to wash your hands in the toilet before eating (I love that) 2. They do not add the service charge to your bill. They leave that to your discretion 3. The seating space is small, so book ahead if going with a crowd 4. If you don't like loud music, then this is not for you. If you enjoy afro beats, you will be happy 5. Enjoyed Yam chips with red bream fish and a hot pepper sauce (some of my friends struggled with the hot sauce, so they added a little bit of ketchup to theirs). 6. Enjoyed a starter of turkey tail, which was very flavoursome 7. A nice local restaurant to try out some Ghanaian dishes

My first time trying West African food, was very curious about fufu especially. I ordered the jollof rice with chicken, personally I enjoyed the chicken, was cooked nicely and the flavours were there. The jollof rice was nice, but a bit dry for me for my preference when it comes to how rice is made. The sauce was very tasty. Trying the fufu for the first time with the soup was good but since it’s my first time all it reminded me was a very dry mash potato. Overall the food was tasty enough but it wouldn’t be my goto.

Thank you for being an outstanding example of what a Ghanaian restaurant should be — unlike Gina’s. The warmth of the staff, especially Irene, is unmatched!

I’ve both dined in and ordered takeout multiple times via Uber Eats, and they’re always quick and efficient. The customer service is exceptional, and the staff are incredibly kind.

My most recent visit was on Thursday, 6th March 2025, but I’ve been several times before, including visits with my work colleagues. Despite the place often being busy, the service has always been amazing, which is impressive.

You’ve definitely earned a loyal customer in me, especially now that you’re local. I’d highly recommend the meat pie, bofrot, kebab, tilapia, and tsofi (turkey tail). The fufu and meat soup are also delicious, and my friends can’t get enough of the banku and jollof. We really loved the station where you can wash your hands as this is much better than going into the bathrooms.

If you follow me on social media, you’ve probably seen videos of their food — always fresh, generous portions, and fantastic value for money. I’m always excited to spend...

In all honesty the food is nice at Bongo bar, however I have given a 3 star rating overall because the service is ridiculous and needs to be worked on. My first experience I dined in the restaurant and I would like that say there was no issues. Unfortunately my second time ordering from bongo bar, I placed an order on the phone and was told it would be ready within 20 minutes, upon arrival I literally waited about 10 minutes before being seen by anyone to serve me and when I finally was served I explained I placed an order on the phone. To cut a long story short the gentleman who took my phone order and confirmed it would be ready in 20 minutes came out to tell me that the food was finished. This is very unprofessional and disgraceful, I wasted my time and petrol driving down to pick up nothing, and no-one even had the decency to offer some type of compensation for the error which was clearly made by the restaurant. There is lack of communication and organisation at Bongo bar and they really need to improve on it. To conclude I still recommend this restaurant as a bad experience will not...

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Bongo Bar. My visit to the restaurant left me with a terrible impression and I feel compelled to share my concerns with the wider public.

Firstly, the food I ordered from Bongo Bar had such poor quality that it resulted in a severe case of diarrhoea. Not only did the food fail to meet basic hygiene standards, but it also caused me significant discomfort and health issues. It is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant to serve food that has such adverse effects on its customers.

Furthermore, the service at Bongo Bar was shockingly slow and inefficient. I waited for an astonishing two hours and thirty minutes before my food was finally served. This level of delay is unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of respect for customers' time and patience. The staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional, and their inability to manage orders in a timely manner is...
