Boom Battle Bar Ealing - American Pool Tables
I recently visited Boom Battle Bar Ealing to play pool, but unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming. While the venue itself offers a variety of games and entertainment, the layout and atmosphere around the pool area left a lot to be desired.
We had booked two 45-minute slots, but this felt far too short to properly enjoy a relaxed game and conversation. The fast-paced turnover creates a rushed vibe, which doesn’t suit a game like pool. A 1-hour or 1.5-hour slot would have been far more appropriate. It seems like the venue is trying to pack in as many activities as possible, which leads to overcrowding. If the mini-golf section was replaced with additional pool tables, it could easily fit 6-10 tables and allow for longer, more enjoyable sessions.
One of the biggest issues was the overcrowding near the pool tables. The three pool tables were crammed closely together, and the surrounding space was filled with drinking tables and groups of people. This setup meant we were constantly dodging passersby – drunks, staff carrying food, and even people dancing next to the tables. It felt chaotic and distracting, making it hard to focus on the game. I found myself repeatedly having to ask people to move just to take a shot, which significantly reduced the enjoyment.
Another frustration was the lack of dedicated space around the pool tables. There were no stools or side tables for drinks, and staff repeatedly reminded us not to place drinks on the table. This makes sense for protecting the tables, but without an alternative, it felt inconvenient. A few stools and small drink tables in a designated pool area would significantly improve the experience.
Additionally, staff were difficult to identify. Everyone seemed to be wearing their own clothes, which caused confusion when people approached us to confirm our booking. Some form of uniform or even badges would help distinguish staff from other patrons.
Overall, if you’re looking for a quality pool experience, I wouldn’t recommend Boom Battle Bar Ealing. The atmosphere is cramped and chaotic, and for £12 per 45-minute slot, you’ll spend more time asking people to move than actually playing. For a casual drink and not care about the game, this might be fine, but for a fun challenging pool session, I’d suggest finding another venue. This was our first visit, and likely our last, due to the overall disorganised feel and potential for unpleasant encounters with overly...
Read moreOn Saturday 6th April 2024 a group of us (5), were subjected to some terrible behaviour from the manager at boom battle bar Ealing. The manager i believe is called sam Watson. We booked a week in advance to have a session of table tennis and a nice peaceful evening and experience. When we entered the venue the music was blasting out at full volume, the customers we leaving because of the noise. We couldn't even hear each other speak because the noise was so extreme and we had to shout just to hear each other. As a result some the group ended up getting a sore throat and loosing their voice. We kindly requested on numerous occasions for the music to be turned down to a more sensible level, but the manager (sam Watson) refused to do so and ignored us. To make things even worse. When we went to play our session of table tennis, they turned the lights off in the area where the table tennis is set up, so we could hardly see the table and table tennis ball. So this ruined our whole experience and wasted our time and money. We asked if the lights could be switched on so that we can play our session of table tennis and the manager (Sam Watson) said the lights do not work. As soon as we finished our session of table tennis, to our shock and surprise the lights around the table tennis area was switched back on to full blast. We went to look for the manager (sam Watson) to ask him why he lied to us and why he deliberately made us have such a bad time and experience and why he targeted us specifically, we found out he had run off home because he didn't want to face up to the truth of what he just did. All of the other staff at boom battle bar Ealing are fantastic and very friendly and helpful. We are regulars there so they know us and remember us from previous occasions and we all get on well. But this manager called sam Watson is a nasty piece of work and a very unpleasant person who should be reported to higher authorities and disciplinary action should be taken against him. His behaviour was totally inappropriate and...

I booked for the crazy golf (two adults and two children) for 12pm. On the email it said to arrive 10 minutes early which we did. Boom Battle doesn't open until 12pm so we waited outside. That was fine, someone finally came to open the door about 12:05pm, didn't say hello, literally opened the door and walked away, so we followed. The woman went to put her handbag away and just milled around. I had to ask if we could check in. There was another group also confused what to do. Once checked it, we were taken over to the golf area, given clubs and balls and that's it. No explanation, no welcome to Boom Battle, no instructions about getting drinks or where the toilets were... Once we started to play, I went to the bar to get drinks. Well the guy serving was half asleep. I asked for two coke zeros, an apple juice and a Sicilian lemon. I asked for lemon in the cokes, the guy looked defeated and said he didn't know where they were. I paid and took the drinks. He gave me two possibly cherry cokes, they weren't coke zero, so either cherry coke or something weird was going on. There was no point in taking them back.
As we played, an older lady approached us asking if we'd seen anyone working there as she had a party to start. Nope, the guy from the bar was gone, the useless women who opened up was gone. There were crowds of people standing around not knowing where to go or what to do and no one around to ask.
It was absolute shambles.
I appreciate it's the summer but honestly Boom Battle do better. Have more than two people working AND train them. The woman who let us in has zero customer services skills. She didn't apologise for opening late, no smile, no welcome,...
