Hi I bought two coffees this morning from the van in Victoria park (Sunday) spent Ā£7.60 I used to rate this van highly, maybe they have had a change of staff, who knows, but never again will we buy our coffee from them. After our group drank our coffees we asked for a little drop of water for our little dog? only to be told āno you can get it over the bridge from a tapā what a rude jobs-worth, he obviously is not a dog owner and he obviously does not like dogs, letās just hope he gets turned down when he needs a little water on a hot day. Just to make it clear, yes we could have walked over the bridge but our little dog was exhausted. He gave away free oat milk for a lady to give her baby but no water for the dog, maybe next time Iāll ask for free oat milkš. Just to answer the guy from browns of Brockley. Firstly there is no need for your rude sarcasm. One knows that one does not need oat milk to wash there hands. Secondly in future we know where to get water from in the future, and we certainly know where NOT to buy coffee. There are plenty of vans and coffee places within the park. What a shame you treat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirstly, I am writing a review of Browns of Brockley not as a customer, but as a local resident to my local park [Blythe Hill Fields SE23]. Browns of Brockley are co-sponsors to the 5th September 2021 Blythe Hill Fields 'Festival' organised by the park volunteer group called the Friends of Blythe Hill Fields. This group has been in existence since 2003 and the annual Festival is supposed to be a fundraiser event to raise funds for ongoing park improvements. The delayed Festival for 2021 has no specified park improvement fund raising objective and this follows on from many years of the same from the Friends group. I will gladly amend/remove my post if Browns of Brockley can outline to all what specified, scheduled and deliverable park improvement its sponsorship is intended to deliver for those who use Blythe Hill Fields for the other 364 days and 19 hours of the year. Blythe Hill Fields is a public park. Whilst private sponsorship for park events may have its place, the sponsorship should at least stretch further than advertising as a 'legacy' issue for a public park. I look forward to hearing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a regular at this cafĆ© for the past five years and have always appreciated the coffee, the staff, and the overall atmosphere. However, today I had a completely different experience, and unfortunately, it wasnāt a positive one.
Two women were sitting nearby speaking loudly as if they were in a pub rather than a cafĆ©, but I didnāt say anything, as they were simply enjoying themselves, even if it was a bit disruptive. At one point, I accidentally opened an Instagram video on my phone. It played for less than five seconds and happened to be in French. One of the women abruptly said, āShut thatā, which really shocked me.
We are in 2025, until when such racist behaviour by some people will continue?
I want to be clear that my concern is not at all with the cafƩ itself, as the staff and service have always been excellent. But this incident with another customer has left me feeling quite stress.
I thought sharing this feedback with management might help me process the experience and bring some attention to how such interactions can...
