honestly, what do you want out of a bakery? the chicken and halloumi sandwich is utterly gigantic and covered in mayo which you wouldn't think works but very much does and the staff are genuinely very nice without being ingratiating. the cakes look traditional and satisfying in a nostalgic school-dinnersy way (I absolutely mean that as a compliment) and the bread is stunning. it used to (and perhaps still does) get baked in the early hours of the morning and you could smell it half way down the road to New Cross as you walked home from the pub. dreamy. the bakery is a mainstay of the area and I always make sure to go if I happen to be around. a...

Been past this bakery many years as my nan lived in Brockley before passing, came down to the area for a trip to memory lane and decided to pop in for once - and i am GLAD!! From arriving, the cafe was jam packed but all with happy hungry faces waiting for their freshly baked grub. The service by all staff was amazing, welcomed instantly on arrival, they actually pay attention to any allergens / preferences and are always on the ball.
