Ordered the Eggs florentine. Paid £7.95 for this. I wouldn't have minded paying that if it was top quality food, but it really wasn't. The bread was soggy and there was only one slice (would expect at least two). The poached eggs were hard and the yoke was not runny. I have never been to a place which serves poached eggs hard and not runny. Google search poached eggs and all the pictures of the eggs are runny. I told the waiter and instead of bringing me a fresh plate of food, he instead brought over two soggy poached eggs on a plate, one by one, because the chef had trouble making two at once. I assume I was just meant to exchange these for the hard poached eggs and put these new ones on top. I thought this was awful service. I work at a cafe which sells brunch myself and if a customer received a plate of food they weren't happy with, I would just ask for a completely new dish to be made. I also had the merry berry smoothie which had a really strange aftertaste so I couldn't even drink half of it. Overall I paid £10.90 for all of this. I didn't want to pay but I also didn't want to raise a fuss, as the waiter had made me feel uncomfortable for first saying that the eggs weren't cooked well. I won't be coming back again but would quite like my...
Read moreAfter reading reviews I thought I will have a great brunch experience. Unfortunately it was really mediocre.
Plus: I’ve had a great chai latte, definitely one of the best in the area so I will definitely give thumbs up for that I like the Latin vibe of the place
Cons: I ordered shakshuka and one of the smoothies. I didn’t enjoy shakshuka, the portion was also small comparing to the price (over £8). Only two eggs and the rest didn’t feel seasoned well. But it could be a personal thing, someone could like it better as it wasn’t the worst smoothie was not so good but there are no seasonal fruits around so that could be the reason. Therefore I wouldn’t recommend ordering it during fall season what really annoyed me was bread added to shakshuka - in menu it’s advertised as “sourdough toastie” and they keep advertising that bread as wood fire bread. It’s honestly nothing special. The bread was very dry and only heated up.
I asked staff for an exchange for an actual toast and have been told I need to pay for that. It’s a shame as I already paid a lot for a brunch I didn’t enjoy at all + got some dry bread I couldn’t even exchange.
I’d go there for coffee again but...
Read moreHaving been to this place a few times, it upsets me to write this as I have gone there for years, however, going back today after an short absence and ordering my usual (chimichurri wrap with halloumi) I found out they made a change to it by adding sweet bell peppers. I took the wrap back advising that i have an allergy to peppers and i had no idea they changed the ingredients of my fav wrap. After about 10 mins i went back and asked for it to be prepped to be taken away as my party had finished eating. When i returned to work and eagerly bit into the wrap i realised by the taste AND reaction that they just picked out the peppers. I had an itchy throat and nose for a while due to the allergy. I called them and they apologised but offered no explanation as to why they felt it fine to just pick out something which would give a customer an allergic reaction. I'm so disappointed as i have been going there for years. I write this review as a warning as one day it could be a severe allergic reaction and i wouldn't want anyone...
