Summary: an unremarkable waffle that looks great but required a very long queue experience and marred by American tourists accusing me of jumping the queue too!
The repeated references on here to the lengthy queues (1hr+ even on 'quiet' days) are no exaggeration. Forget about it on holidays like half term unless you don't value your feet... This is exacerbated by a fairly poorly managed queue. On the busier days (2hrs+), you might spot a security guard, which probably helps, but on quieter days you're left to your own devices. The queue snakes in and around the cramped store in a very illogical way and has the line broken up by the gap for the door. The queue moves from the right side of the window to the left wall inside the store all the way to the back, then snakes back on itself until you leave by interrupting the snaking queue. (I assume this moving across the gap between one half of the queue to other is what led the tourists behind us to falsely accuse us of jumping the queue. Not the best experience after queuing up for nearly an hour with a bad knee, and could have easily been better managed). What you'll notice while queuing up is how many people eventually make their way in compared to the very few people that get served in the same time.
On to the bubble wrap itself... It's perfectly okay. It's a gimmicky way to present what you already know very well (which contributes to the slow service, because it needs to cool in a cone shape), with tasty gelato and typical toppings. In fact, my waffle tasted doughy in parts and very crispy in others - suggesting rushed cooking and/or inconsistent coverage on the iron. The pistachio gelato was delicious and the fruit and white chocolate were okay. For the price and the ridiculous wait and the experience, I honestly can't recommend this. For comparison, there's a truck serving bubble wrap waffles in Green Park for slightly cheaper and much quicker service.
Looks good on...

I tried the classic combination with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and Nutella drizzle, and it was simply heavenly. The portion size is generous, making it great for sharing, though you might just want to keep it all to yourself!
The service was quick and efficient, even during busy times, and the staff were friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu options. Despite the popularity of the shop, the wait time was minimal, and the desserts were worth every minute.

Read moreThe waffle itself is delicious, but its not any different from any other waffles i have tried. this is also 3x as expensive. i had to give this place a go but believe me it is the first and last time i will eat from here. not only are the queues stupidly long (Expect to be waiting an hour or more like I did and my friends on different days), but the service is a disgrace. absolutely terrible service, its the slowest service i have ever seen. that is why the queue is so long. not because they are that good and tasty but because the service is SO SLOW and i think it is on purpose. people were walking out of the queue outside and inside of the shop because it really was becoming a joke. i mean i understand in that tiny shop there is no air con (Why? that is cruel for workers and customers) so the staff may be working slower to keep cool but when you have a two hour queue inside and outside your shop you wouldve thought youd work a bit faster. these people were really taking their time, chatting, decorating each waffle like it was the art project of the century. surely its not that hard to slap a scoop of ice cream in the middle, slap some strawberries on and put nutella on it. apparently its the most difficult and time consuming task in the world. so unfortunately this place is just not worth it. it is a complete gimmick and the lines outside are probably just used as an advertisement tool and the shop takes advantage of this by keeping the lines through a disgracefully...
