There was a variety of duck, beef, chicken, noodles, special fried rice, duck pancakes that my sister has been raving about for the last 6 years of my life. The service was really efficient and fast, some of the servers weren’t that friendly and looked quite angry but they were definitely good at their job.
We started of with quite oily platter of the Golden Dragon Special Mixed Hors D’oeures, there were 12 of us and we all decided to get the Peking cuisine set meal so they would bring big plates which we would just share among us. What I enjoyed the most through this whole experience was that there was a very wide range of variety in this. It had me trying seaweed which had been fried and covered in sugar which was probably the reason we were having massive scoops of it. Dipping the Hors D’oeures into sauce I had no clue what it was but worked really well. Some people had Chinese tea to cleanse their palate in between dishes and looking back if I go again I do think it’s a good idea especially with the coating of oil that surrounded the inside of my mouth after those Hors D’oeures.
The automatic crispy duck definitely lived up to the name of crispy and for some reason putting it in pack cakes worked really well. However It didn’t quite live up to the expectations that my sister put in my head as I don’t think there was enough infusion of flavour in the duck itself, it was incredibly tender which was excellent but I’m guessing that’s what that sauce that came with it was for. Next time I will try the roast peking duck pancakes and see how much of a difference it will make.
After what I will call the warm up dishes to prepare you for the final boss where everyone has to pull their weight since it’s £31.80 and you want to get your moneys worth. The main operators were progressing by the plate full effectively devouring the plethora of food set before us. There were some discrepancies that I picked up on while eating which was some of the meats were at different temperatures went got them for example the crispy shedded beef was essentially lukewarm and it didn’t take long before it was cold and I didn’t finish eating it as a result but everything else was nice and hot. The Sichuan Spicy Prawns weren’t really spicy and they were really quite soft and delicate but I felt like they were lacking in flavour along with the satay chicken which was cooked really well and aesthetically pleasing.
Overall it was definitely a unique dining experience especially one of the staff even came up to us and told a story about eating duck in Hong Kong. So it was a great experience and I would rate it a 7.5/10 just because of the sheer variety and textures of food I had experienced, I’m not that experienced in Chinese food so maybe there are different dishes with more depth to their flavour that I could try.

Ordered takeaway, rice was so hard to eat not even cooked, came a week later to say that the food was so hard to eat, they said you did not tell me last week, next time call in so there is a call about the report, I said okay if this happens again I will, I live two hours away from London and am a disabled woman, not in a good position to come all the way back to return rice that was not cooked properly. I ordered again today, the side of rice was still so hard, I won’t be back in London for some time but I can.led so they have a record of my report. Jackie answered (who knows if she gave a false name) and said, “yeah so? What do you want me todo? come back and return the rice if it’s bad, no one else complained you are the only one who complained.” I explained if I was a London resistant I would but I live hours away and won’t be back for at least a month and if when I come back next time could just give me a replacement for something else the same price as this would be on record. She said “keep the rice in your fridge and bring it back after a month I don’t care.” She was so rude and kept interrupting what I was saying. I asked “where is the manger?” she said the “manager is out.” I said then this advice is not coming from a manger, she said “Okay I am now the manager. “ her attitude was so bitter I was shocked.
Absurd customer service and full of lies. So upset at the response I have gotten. If anything is wrong they don’t like complaints they will just say YOU were the only one to complain it’s YOUR problem. But when they were face to face they told me to call them and that they’ll solve the issue and write the report down. Never going back to this place again. Spent £60 for raw things and this is the service I get. Revolting, customer service is disgusting and food is not cooked. Would recommend this restaurant if you’re in the mood to eat raw rice and get laughed at for...
Read moreRude customer service by waitress named VERA. We were not that hungry because we had some snacks before coming in, so ordered a soup and 2 main dishes and told the waitress that we will order more later if we felt more hungry. The waitress became visibly annoyed and said that we have to order more dishes as there is a minimum of 10 pounds per person. We said we will order more, but in case we cannot finish the food, can we get some takeaway boxes as we do not wish to waste food. The waitress again looked very annoyed and muttered something in chinese/Cantonese in front of us. She reluctantly agreed. We wanted to walk out but had already placed the order so didn't want to create a scene. Very unprofessional staff making customers feel unwelcomed. Serious staff training needed. Also the food portions were huge so we had to take half of the food home We thought of not paying the service charge which was advertised as discretionary, then after reading the reviews realised that they create a lot of ruckus and will insult us if we don't pay it so decided to pay the charge. Service charge should be advertised as mandatory here, not discretionary. At the end, we informed the manager that the policy of 10 pounds per person should be advertised so that customers are aware of it, then the manager was rude saying that in London all restaurants are like that and if we had small appetite, we should've gone to a cafe, not a restaurant. When I informed that that's not the case, I have lived here since 3 years and have been eating out a lot and this policy is not there, he laughed at me saying that he has been living here for 45 years. So what?! The fact that 10 pounds per person minimum order is not there in other restaurants! We have no issues with a restaurant having its own terms and conditions but they should be ADVERTISED properly. Very rude manager and restaurant waitress, both should not be working in...
