I had an early dinner at the Portobello Road branch today. My order of Chicken Milanese was, disappointingly, deep fried rather than pan fried(after 38 years in kitchens myself, I'm very able to tell) and was also quite dry. It came with an again disappointingly bland garlic mayonnaise. Alongside it I had ordered a portion of "rosemary potatoes ". Somewhat of a letdown too, given that there was no rosemary at all mixed in with the potatoes, and only a sprig of rosemary sitting on top of the bowl. At £4-50 for a portion, despite its size,I felt very shortchanged as regards my expectations of a flavoursome side order. Alongside the aforementioned chicken,I was less than pleased. Nonetheless I decided to see if I would fare better with the dessert. A traditional tiramisu turned out to be somewhat dry, unsweetened and lacking in any espresso flavour from the poorly soaked savoiardi biscuits- again a bitter disappointment for its £6-00 price tag. My accompanying glass of Merlot was decidedly insipid,an overpriced tragedy at £8-00 for a 150ml glass. With my dessert,as per menu suggestion (and recommendation from the waiter),I tried an Amaro Montenegro, described to me as a herb based liqueur- not bad but I can't see myself revisiting that particular taste anytime soon. Finally,I had a small cappuccino with an Amaretto di Sarrono. Wrongly(at least in my opinion)the drink was prepared first, with my requested single ice cube, and left sitting on the counter whilst my coffee was prepared, resulting in a partially melted and diluted liqueur. The cappuccino itself was bland, obviously lacking in a good espresso base underneath the tepid milk foam. Whilst on the subject of temperatures, the restaurant itself was not particularly warm, despite seating myself as far as possible from the door, to avoid any draughts. All in all, a hugely disappointing experience in this very recently opened branch of Cacciaris. I had decided, against my better judgement, in this case,to try the restaurant, despite some friends having dined the previous Sunday evening and them having been disappointed too(overcooked seafood pasta dish, bland dessert- and these friends are Italian themselves!!) For a newly opened restaurant, and considering that I was the only customer at the time, the entire experience, along with the overpriced (and much under delivered) menu ,leaves me entirely dissatisfied, enough to resort to this review. I fully realise that they will be practically closing in a few days,as a result of new lockdown restrictions, but the lack of quality certainly does not bode well for this establishment, when it reopens. I have eaten an immense amount of Italian food in my life, much if it superb and beautifully authentic. This evening's offering has done no justice to its Italian heritage and origins. Sadly, despite many great hopes for this shiny, new corner restaurant on a traditionally less busy part of Portobello Road, I shall not be returning, nor could I, in all good faith, ever recommend...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at cacciari’s restaurant in portobello (Notting hill ) and I must say, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The service was absolutely abysmal, and the attitude of the staff left much to be desired.
First and foremost, the waitress who attended to our table displayed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. While I was in the middle of enjoying my main course, she abruptly interrupted and asked if I wanted a coffee because they needed to close the machine. I was taken aback by her rudeness and insensitivity towards my dining experience. It felt like my enjoyment of the meal was of no importance to her, and she was more concerned about her convenience.
Frustrated by this unprofessional behavior, I requested to speak with the manager, hoping to address the issue and find a resolution. However, to my disbelief, the supposed manager turned out to be the same lady I had mistaken for a waitress. This revelation only added to my disappointment, as it indicated a lack of organizational structure and proper management within the restaurant.
The fact that the manager herself was unable to differentiate herself from the waitstaff is indicative of a larger problem with this establishment. It is evident that there is a lack of training, leadership, and attention to customer satisfaction.
I firmly believe that a restaurant should prioritize providing excellent service and creating a pleasant atmosphere for its patrons. Unfortunately, [Restaurant Name] failed miserably on both fronts. I left the restaurant feeling frustrated, disrespected, and completely unsatisfied..
It is truly disheartening to witness such a disregard for customer service, and I sincerely hope that the management of cacciaris restaurant in Notting Hill takes this feedback constructively and implements necessary changes to improve the overall experience for...
Read moreAn unfortunate waste of money!!! I ordered a simple chicken salad on getting the salad it was missing the avocado and seeds toppings, I paid £18.50 for the laughable plate of 5cubes of dry chicken on a stick a few sprigs of rocket and cherry tomatoes. My friends pasta was missing the crab they had to replace her plate, obviously the kitchen was sending out incomplete plates. We had a cake for the celebrant on the table, after blowing out the cake the staff blatantly refused to slice and serve the cake quoting they didn't want to make a mistake when cutting the cake because it did not come from their kitchen , really? Had to scratch my head for that one. When we asked for a cake knife they gave us a 30inch butchers knife, incredible!! We had two extra guest attend and they were rude citing we are fully book when the restaurant was half empty. I called next day to address the salad issue, eveutally they tried to offer a £3 partial refund, or a replacement salad (like I would go back to that restaurant). No apology. Certainly not worth going to this restaurant, they have no service standards are over priced, rude and quite frankly incapable of managing...
