I visited Cafe Mama & Sons on Kentish Town Road, where Panadera used to be, and got a bunch of things to try. The jerk chicken sando was okay. I thought it would be hot, but it was served cold, mixed with a mayo-style sauce. It did have a nice charred flavour though. I also tried the mushroom sando, and like a lot of reviews said, it was super salty. I gave it a shot anyway but couldn’t finish it. I got the matcha cookie and the miso cookie too, but both were really soft, almost too soft. The matcha one felt like mush and just broke apart, and the miso one tasted more cakey than cookie-like. The Milo chocolate mocha started off tasting nice, but even after mixing, the chocolate flavour disappeared quickly and it ended up just tasting like strong coffee. The Spanish matcha was the one I was excited for, but after the first sip the flavour really dropped off. It didn’t have much of a matcha taste, and the colour looked off as well. The matcha bar wasn’t bad, and the honey toast was probably the best thing I had. It wasn’t warm, but it had a great nutty flavour and the outside was crunchy and caramelised. Overall, it’s a cool idea and there’s definitely potential, but a lot of the items could use some work when it comes to flavour and execution.

Customer service was horrible... I wasn't asked if I wanted to eat in or take out.... I was offered a receipt or even made aware that my order had gone though.. just silent treatment and the people after me got better treatment, even got accommodated on seating arrangement. No organisation on delivering food either. Food was good but they messed up my order so I was kept waiting an extra 10mins. Customer service makes or breaks everything.

I saw this cafe on tik tok and had to try the egg salad meal deal. It was so delicious. The bread was toasted to perfection and the filling was just the right amount of egg. The crisps were also pretty good, although some of them were soggy because I got my food to go. Everything was reasonably priced. The shop itself it very cute and was easy to find. I really enjoyed my meal and would come here again.

Look. I can’t fault the quality of the food and the drinks because they are great. But waiting 30 min for one take away SANDWICH meal deal in the conditions where I was the first one to order and everyone that ordered after me, got their order within 5 mins, it’s just disappointing. If you want me to wait 30 min, have a proper sit down set up at least so I know what to expect. Amazing sandwich but not worth 30 min wait. I have been recommending people left and right this place and I won’t anymore. Don’t even know if I’ll go back because ok. The wait was bad but the situation was also badly...

I come here often and really enjoy the sandos they’re consistently tasty! However, I do wish there was an option to upgrade my meal with tater tots or at least purchase them as a side.

That said, the customer service could use some improvement. The staff aren’t the friendliest, and when I mentioned that my takeaway Milo tiramisu was missing the sauce, they looked at me like I was making it up. It was a disappointing interaction, especially since I’m a regular customer.

Hopefully, they can work on their service and menu options, because the food...
