I don't usually like to give bad reviews but this place left a bad taste in my mouth so I felt I had to.
We ordered drinks and a bottle of their Malbec. We wanted the octopus salad but asked for the parsley to be removed as one of us had an intolerance to it.
He got another colleague to come over to explain that they couldn't remove the parsley. We found this a bit strange and asked if the salad was freshly made. Maybe there was a bit of a miscommunication, but they said they could make it fresh but there wasn't enough octopus so couldn't remove the parsley (maybe it was in the dressing or something). This was fine, we ordered it anyway, along with a few of the fried gnocchi dishes.
The drinks came but he must have not heard that we wanted a bottle of wine so brought a glass (although he didn't ask what size I had wanted...). He then brought over an already opened bottle.
Are bottles not usually opened at the table? I guess it was my fault for not trying the wine before pouring (we had to ask for extra glasses too as he only gave one - I mean, I could probably drink a whole bottle myself, but not tonight 😅).
The wine tasted a bit sour and off. I've had my fair share of wine so should know when something isn't right. Staff probably thought we were purposely being difficult but we really weren't. It was just a series of unfortunate events... They said that's just how it tastes so we couraged them to get a glass and to try for themselves but they refused to and said we could order another bottle.
When the bill came, they had charged us for the 2 glasses of Malbec, which we didn't drink. They probably thought we just didn't like the taste of the wine... Anyway we didn't have the energy to argue so just paid.
The food was fine but not enough to make up for the service, even with 50% off using @thefork_uk. Maybe it was an off night but I'm not willing to go again to give them another try.

Read moreI don’t usually write reviews—when everything is good, you just enjoy the moment and move on. But Corretto absolutely deserves some appreciation.
From the moment you step in, the atmosphere wraps around you like a warm welcome. The staff greet you with genuine smiles, and that simple gesture makes a huge difference. There's no awkwardness, no being left standing at the door...you’re acknowledged and welcomed immediately, and that sets the tone for the whole experience.
The location? Stunning. Right by the canal, it adds a beautiful, peaceful touch to your meal. But let’s get to the heart of the matter: the food.
Chef Rob is an artist. The poached eggs? Cooked to absolute perfection...think Michelin-level. The mushrooms, cut with precision and sautéed with just the flawless balance of seasoning. Every ingredient in every dish is thoughtfully combined, with clear attention to flavour, texture, and presentation. You can tell this isn’t just cooking, it’s craftsmanship.
This is what true hospitality looks like: people who not only take pride in what they do but have real talent behind it.
Well done chef and the entire team. I’ll...
Read moreFoH manager was talking to one table for ages. Tried to order on the app but due to poor signal, couldn't get through to the payment page.
I asked a waitress if I could order with her but was told only ONE person can take orders "as he had the machine"...it was the FoH manager. I stood there for an age as he continued talking despite seeing me waiting (and also noticed a second machine on the side so surely someone else is capable of tapping a few buttons to help out when busy?).
Food was okay, parts of it were cold for both of us due to then using refrigerated avocado on top of the hot food, and it wasn't a big enough portion for the price. Iced coffee was terrible and to top it all off, you have to use a toilet across the way because a place that charges over £30 for two brunch dishes didn't have a toilet.
Amazed it had such a high rating.
Oh, and had to clean my own table using the spray and cloth next to us, much to the amusement of...
