Dropped into Cafe Parisienne with my wife and our three kids (7, 10, and 13) on a Saturday wander down Lavender Hill — and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be.
The café has a warm, charming feel — a bit of Paris with a local heart. We were greeted with smiles and found a comfy spot big enough for the whole gang. Staff were brilliant with the kids — patient, friendly, and even offered our youngest a sticker after she admired the cake display.
The food? Fantastic. The kids were all over the croissants and pastries, while my wife enjoyed a perfect flat white with an almond croissant. I had a croque monsieur and a strong cuppa — both absolutely spot on. Everything felt freshly made and served with care.
What really made it for us was the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. No rush, no side-eyes at noisy kids, just a lovely calm space to enjoy time together.
Afterwards, we popped into Battersea Library for a quiet read, then took a walk to Battersea Park — an easy stroll from the café, with loads of space for the kids to run about. The area has a nice local feel, with independent shops, the Battersea Arts Centre, and Clapham Junction station just minutes away.
All in all, a top spot for families. Good food, friendly service, and a perfect base for a laid-back family day out in London. Dropped into Cafe Parisienne with my wife and our three kids (7, 10, and 13) on a Saturday wander down Lavender Hill — and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be.

Read moreI went to the restaurant today with a few colleagues during our lunch hour, we’ve never been there before. None of us are based in Battersea, before my colleague even decided on whether she wanted to dine there, she was told by the owner to “shut up and sit down” he was clearly trying to be funny but it wasn’t funny and immediately put us all on edge. We were all people of colour and he then proceeded to try and make light of the situation by showing my colleague videos (TikTok) on his phone of other people of colour that have visited his restaurant, unfortunately my colleague was incredibly uncomfortable and visibly irate however because we only had 45mins and were hungry and didn’t have many other options nearby we decided to stay. I realised very quickly that the gentleman has knack for being over familiar and using that as his technique for being friendly, it’s not a good technique. For the remainder of the time the man (despite being the one waiting on us) refused to leave us alone; he’d continue coming over to the table rambling on about nonsense and continued to try and justify his rudeness. He even claimed to have only returned to society three weeks prior after serving time in prison. It wasn’t clear if he was being serious or not. We were working a couple mins walk away. So after the food arrived I ate very quickly, paid my bill and left. My colleagues weren’t too far behind. I feel like we were racially profiled and I think the owner was incredibly misogynistic towards my colleague. Before I left he blindly advised me to “never give up” and stay out of trouble. I think we can all guess why he felt like that was good advice. Needless to say despite the food being okay at best and the prices being adequate. The service was atrocious, his demeanour was a disgrace and we will never ever set foot in that establishment ever again. I strongly advise anyone reading this to do the same. He’s lucky there aren’t a lot of food spots in that particular area otherwise I think he’d see his business suffer significantly…
P.S - I almost forgot to add, my colleague very discreetly helped me notice that he was trying to film us or take a photo of us. And after I left he asked my colleague if he could take a photo of her and she obviously declined....
Read moreThis is such a lovely cafe and the owner Cazim is absolutely amazing. There’s so much to share about my time at this beautiful cafe. I noticed it immediately as I walked in lavender hill. So did many other passerbys as I spent time in the corner area in the cafe and then some time outside. Everyone that goes by is drawn to this cafe amidst the hustle and bustle of the street. The menu is highly recommended if you looking for that cappuccino , earl grey tea or cold drink to quench your thirst. The food has a variety of sumptuous breakfast , salads , sandwiches , burgers and so much more desserts to satisfy your appetite. It’s as if being there and chatting to Cazim I was transported to this amazing place where everything was just amazing ..you have to experience it for yourself first hand to know what I experienced. The service was commendable and everyone was friendly and his wife equally amazing. I was taken aback by Cazims kindness , hospitality , philosophical talks and connection he made with me and each and every person that entered his cafe. This was from beginning to end. He’s recently been written about his love and kindness to all during the riots ..which is much needed. Cazim Im still in awe of the amazing time I had today with you and everyone. Thanks so much for everything . Thanks for all the kindness , love and amazing cafe ..I will definitely be visiting again …much love Seshni…there’s so much more I want to write ..but this for now ..till next time...
