CakeCo - Ilford — Restaurant in London

Ordered a cake online paid the extra £10 delivery fee. Cake delivery slot was 11am to 4pm. Cake was delivered at 4:35pm. Anyhow thats not a big issue. The delivery driver which was a cab, so not delivered by in house delivery. Delivery man called me as he could not be bothered to come out of the car due to rain and pick the cake up outside a few doors down. Delivery charge is a surcharge as it is a door to door service however if the delivery driver does not want to get is hair wet he will make you come out. Please note this was a delivery to a house not a block of flats?! Anyway very bad service. Then the manager of ilford Paul's bakery ( will be known as Cake Co soon so be aware) calls me me up and trys to explain the situation that a third party is used for delivery. So i questioned this should be stated on your website as i would not trust a third party if it was my business. But the good part is cakes are very nice. Delivery and how managment deal with such...

First time got oreo cake was lovely. Second time got a coloured cake which was totally different. Tasted very different. No one enjoyed it. Manager said its written on website the coloured cream tastes different but it doesn't. They forgot to put sprinkles on the cake which my son loves. But when asked only offered to put sprinkles on next time.no compensation at all.cake box refunded me the whole cake when they forgot to put some chocolate on the cake. Better customer service there.

Update - recently ordered a cake in 8 inch and later decided to get a smaller one. They were saying they can refund the difference but there will be other charges! What other charges? The manager is quick to take the money but soon as I wanted to change to a smaller size he ignored my calls and messages and the shop staff said they spoke to him and they will let us change to smaller cake but with "charges" very unprofessional. I won't be ordering again. Service...

Ordered a red velvet cake on Friday evening for next day collection. Shared a picture with them to ask for same decoration, was told that the piping will be different and icing roses will be used. On the day received pictures of the cake, did not resemble to the one requested at all (see the pictures below). When went to shop to collect, was told that they use cream cheese instead of fresh cream. The cake itself was very firm, did not taste fresh at all. Tasted exactly like red velvet from Costco (the large one you get for £12). Even Costco cake seems fresh than this one. Was charged £35 for 6inch cake including the charge for decoration. Was very disappointed with the decoration, and beyond disappointed with the taste, £35 gone to waste.
