Visited this relatively new restaurant on 4th May 2010 and wasn't overly impressed. I should start off by saying that the food was average to good but service was distinctly lacking. My whole experience was probably clouded from the moment we went to sit down when I pulled out the table and got the sticky remnants of someone elses dessert on my hands from the underside of the table. The waiter showing us to our table duly wiped it clean and offered me the dishcloth to wipe my hands on! Initial drinks service was a little slow with me having to then turn the waitress away 3 times whilst I decided what I wanted to eat.
Only one of the pre-starters (bread) we ordered turned up and this came with the other starters. I always thought that if you ordered bread/olives/grissini it came before the starter?
The deep fried buffalo mozzarella was just about warm enough but bland and the accompanying rocket was extremely mild. My wife really liked her asparagus.
On ordering my main course the waitress had no idea if I could have fries instead of potatoes and she tried to tell me the red pepper sauce was the vegetable it came with! I suggested that maybe I should order a side of vegetables!
About 15 mins after ordering the 10oz rib-eye the manageress very apologetically told me that the restaurant had been delivered rump instead of rib-eye and would I like that. I asked if it would be the same price and she said yes as it was the same quality.
Let's just say that was the point that I decided I would write this review. I ordered the Seafood Linguine, which was very good. My wife had the calves liver which she enjoyed.
On receiving the bill the manageress had deducted the price of the linguine without me asking which I was pleased with. She also gave me a voucher for a free bottle of wine when we next returned. However, if she had just offered me the rump steak for a few ÂŁ's less I would have gone for that which I think she probably realised. There is no doubt that the manageress did try to correct things.
So all in all food was fine but the waitress service needs more focus; better knowledge of the menu (it's not extensive), and a smile. Luckily for us we are spoilt for choice in our area so I won't be...

I recently visited Carluccioâs, and I must say it was a delightful experience that brought a slice of Italy to my day. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the authentic flavors, everything about this visit was memorable.
The menu is a celebration of Italian cuisine, offering a mix of classic dishes and seasonal specials. I opted for the Spaghetti Carbonara, which was perfectly creamy with a rich, smoky pancetta flavorâjust as it should be. For starters, the Arancini were golden and crispy, with a gooey cheese center that melted in my mouth. My dining companion ordered the Seafood Linguine, which was brimming with fresh seafood and a delicate tomato-based sauce that complemented it beautifully.
The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. It felt like they genuinely cared about our experience.
As for the ambiance, Carluccioâs strikes a perfect balance between casual and refined. The decor is modern yet cozy, with subtle nods to Italian culture. Itâs an ideal spot for anything from a casual lunch to a celebratory dinner.
We finished with the Tiramisu, which was light, creamy, and bursting with coffee flavorâa perfect ending to the meal.
Whether you're a fan of Italian cuisine or just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy great food, Carluccioâs is a fantastic choice. It delivers consistently delicious meals, warm hospitality, and a lovely atmosphere. Iâll definitely be...
Read moreCame to Carluccio's in Wimbledon Village on a Sunday evening, the table was without napkin so we had to help our self to the one on the next table but we had two bottle of oil two sugar pots and so on clearly carelessly left like that. Had our starter the plate were taken away with my cutlery, the main course arrived without my cutlery been replaced so I turned around to ask for some but promptly, what I think to be the manager came over with it and said, and I quote " thought you were going to eat with your hands" I answer to her that maybe next time I would have, made it a no big deal until she goes on saying " we are not like the Chinese who eats the food with the face !?" She is very, very lucky that I was there enjoying the night and didn't want to be rude but this remarks goes a bit too far and close to be racist. If she is indeed management she should go through training again or she should not be aloud to deal with customers and a remainder that we live in a multi ethnic country wouldn't be bad as well considering she is from abroad as well. The food was as always very nice and that didn't...
