We went to this place for an evening meal last night. The table was booked a week ago and we were very much looking forward to it, unfortunately it was a real let down.
First of all, the inside of this restaurant looks very nice and posh, but the service was nowhere to match! Once we arrived, we told the staff we have booked a table but the staff seemed not to know which table was reserved for us, and in the end we were asked to sit at a table next to the main entrance. Despite the fact that the reservation was made a week ago and there were plenty of spare tables at the back / the main dining area of the restaurant, we could not understand why we were given such table next to the main door, so every time when other customers coming in or going out, we just had this cold air blowing to us all night (to be fair to the restaurant, we only spent less than an hour at this place due to the bad service, so perhaps it's wrong to call it 'all night'). But then we kept on seeing some customers who did not book a table but were offered to sit at the back / main dining area of the restaurant, that really made us furious.
A young chap took our food order and served us throughout the night, I would not say the chap was rude, but surely he could do with some training of how to serve customers properly (I already saw him talking to a customer two tables next to us before he came to us and the way he spoke to the customer made me cringe). There was no friendly feeling at this place, and we were not looked after properly at all in my opinion. This led us to spend less than an hour to dine at this place (we had starter and main course).
To be fair, we did have a couple of tasty soup for our starter but the main course was truly a disappointment. We ordered a Mijilto Chicken from the Chef's recommendation menu and when it arrived, it was a piece of chicken fillet sliced and served on a sizzling platter with chopped lemon, raw onion and lettuce, the fillet was roughly about 3" by 2" big, the dish had no sauce and being served on a sizzling platter, it could only make the chicken very dry to eat. Then the other main dish was Penang beef and the meat was very tough, half of the dish (Penang beef) was left behind.
Normally, we would have a dessert after our main meal at a restaurant, but in this occasion we just simply could not see ourselves to spend any longer at this restaurant. When we asked for the bill, on top of the food and drinks, we were charged 12.5% for the service charge, it was totally a rip off. The food was barely ok and the service was rubbish, I wasn't preparing to leave any tips to be honest, But seeing the restaurant has already decided to add 12.5% service charge on the bill and we didn't want to ruin other customers' evening by arguing the service charge, so we just paid and went.
The best bit of the whole experience at this restaurant was, when we were leaving, not a single staff said good bye to us. But when we said good bye to THEM, they did not even acknowledge at all. What a charming hospitality! We are sure we will definitely not go back to this...
Read moreWe were really disappointed with the food from the Thai Tho Wimbledon. We did see on Trip advisor the reviews were more mixed, but we thought we would try it nevertheless and ordered via Deliveroo.
The sticky rice portion was tiny and the texture was terrible as it had been heated far too much in the microwave. We have had sticky rice from a number of different restaurants and this was the worst we have ever experienced.
All the main meals had been put into Tupperware tubs and appear to have been microwaved. I am not sure how much wok/pan cooking occurred ahead of this, but the onions and peppers were uncooked and the prawns in particular were distorted and rubbery as they, again, looked like they had been put in a microwave for too long.
The chicken was of good quality which was reassuring but overall seeing as the meals came around 10 mins from ordering, one can only assume that dishes had been prepared in the morning (with not much wok cooking) and then when orders come in in the evening someone just pops the pre-prepared tubs in the microwave ready for the customer. Our cost almost £50.00 and this is what I would expect from a really low budget outfit as opposed to one of high quality. We did not eat much of the meal in the end and it was very sad to see food going to waste. It was also very upsetting as this was to be a 'push the boat out treat' and it ended up being a terrible experience.
I fear that since lockdown/ restrictions the restaurant has taken advantage of the fact there are no physical customers and so their standards have slipped. We contacted Deliveroo to complain but they said this was out of their hands.

Read moreWas really quite disappointed with the restaurant. There are much better restaurants out there. I ordered a special fried rice . As you can see there is nothing special about it. I was told that I can only choose one meat . Chicken, beef or pork. When I have purchased special fried rice from anywhere else, I get all meats and prawns included. It was well overpriced and very bland and was served with a slice of lemon.
I visited the restaurant with a friend who I had not seen since lockdown. I recieved a very important business phone call. The service in the restaurant is very bad. I could not get a proper signal. I left my friend at the table to take the phone call outside of the restaurant (visible by the door). The staff started panicking and ran towards our table to make sure that my friend was still there. I assumed that they thought that I was trying to run out without paying. Maybe because am black. That was very rude. My best friend is white, they looked embarrassed when I came back to the table and she was still sitting there. From that point I would of ordered more drinks or something but changed my mind. Will not be returning again. Do...
