Hello. We just had dinner with 2 small children and 4 grown ups and I'd like to share my experience. When we arrived the table was all set up, nice area, enough to fit buggies in - all nice. When I asked the WiFi password from the gentleman who looked like maybe a manager or owner of the restaurant, he first looked at me as if I am asking him to give me keys from his house. No smile and unfriendly. He did give me a password but almost rolled his eyes as I asked twice (why not to have a paper with a password written down?) Next - baby food in the jar - asked to warm up for maybe 20 sec in microwave. Waiter again no smile or anything took it away. Brought it back and put on the table saying nothing, I tried and it was the same fridge cold. Asked again and turns out they don't have microwave so asked for a bit of hot water. Maybe mention you did not warm up baby food and ask whether you can bring hot water instead?! Next - children's menu for older child. Ordered pasta with tomatoe sauce. Asked politely to bring it soon if possible as 2 year old is hungry. Reply was ' well I bring it when it's ready'...OK another 'helpful' and 'friendly' reply. But the waiter then went to the kitchen to pass the order for a baby before taking orders from rest of us, thanks for that. Fast forward..pasta arrives (quickly- thanks) salty !!! Not a little salty but very salty. Is that a children's menu?! Why to put so much salt? Whether it was a sauce or pasta water - I don't know. No parmesan or anything on top..The plate - pasta was served on a 'grown up plate' massive plate with little round in the centre where pasta was placed. Fancy! But not for a 2 year old. How is he supposed to eat it? Where are children friendly plates? Main course for myself- seabus. Again overly salty, I could not even taste the fish, just the salt and the same for the garnish. My mom had pizza that we could not eat either and took some home not to add the pizza to the waste- nothing close to Italian pizzas. Ordered strawberry panacota - nothing similar to panacota arrived. Something really sweet and horrid instead of tender Italian dessert. I don't know how the restaurant has such a high ranking - quality of food is far away from what real Italian food should be. I'm not saying pizza needs to be the same standard as they cook in Napoli but maybe something close. And prices are horrendous. Avoid if you want taste nice Italian food and friendly service. Oh and also to mention - my 1 year old wanted to explore and walk around a bit so I held his both hands and walked around a bit and was told off for doing it by waiters. Thanks and...
Read moreWe booked for a Christmas dinner with staff. During the starter course we were not paid much attention by the waiters and struggled to get any attention to order drinks or receive any service at the table. The carpaccio was served without any dressing and we were not provided any olive oil or sauce. Then I asked a waiter to come to the table and explained that we would need better service and attention during the rest of the meal based on the fact that this was a Christmas dinner with staff and we wanted to have a pleasant and enjoyable meal. Then the manager promptly showed up and reprimanded me for the fact that we had come late to the restaurant. We had booked for 7.30 and arrived at 7:45. It was almost as if he was punishing us for being late by a lack of service and attention to the table. Everyone in our party thought that he was completely out of order. The manager accused me of being rude and said that the staff also said that I was rude. Asking for service and attention is not being rude but is the basic right of anyone eating out. The waiter then took control of the situation and said that he would ensure that we were paid attention to during the rest of the meal. I said that would be fine but I said under no circumstances would I want any contact with the manager. The manager then decided he did not want to serve us anymore so we had no option but to get up in the middle of the meal and leave. I refused to pay for half a meal and felt insulted. Neither were we presented with a bill. My wife later told me that she had tipped the staff out of courtesy. I have never had such an unpleasant and shocking experience in a restaurant. We did nothing wrong. This restaurant had no idea of how to treat customers, and if anyone was being rude it was the manager. This was such a shame because when we had previously visited on 2 occasions previously when the owner was present , we enjoyed the meal and found him to be quite pleasant and accommodating.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant for the food ( ok but not amazing ) but would caution anyone making a booking to be on time or face the wrath of the “ manager” and suffer nonsensical accusations of rudeness. Please someone give...
Read moreDeeply frustrated and utterly let down by our recent visit, the experience was far from what was anticipated, especially given the glowing reviews we had encountered prior. The meal began on a disheartening note with dishes that can only be described as insipid, lacking any discernible flavor, and shockingly drenched in oil as if to mask the absence of culinary skill. This already disappointing start was further marred by what was presented as dessert - a panna cotta that bore an unsettling resemblance to spoiled yogurt, both in taste and texture, rendering it inedible and a complete travesty of what one might expect from a dessert.
Despite the commendable efforts of the staff, who were the sole beacon of positivity in an otherwise dreary experience, the ambiance and physical state of the establishment did nothing to salvage our Subdsh. Both the bathrooms and the restaurant's interior are crying out for a thorough refurbishment, presenting a neglected and unwelcoming atmosphere that does not inspire return visits.
It's perplexing to reconcile our experience with the plethora of positive reviews. One wonders about the disparity in experiences and whether we were simply unfortunate in our visit. However, given the gravity of the shortcomings on this occasion, it is with a heavy heart that we conclude our patronage of this establishment. The search for quality dining continues elsewhere, as we will not be subjecting ourselves to such a disappointing...
