The Best Halal Gluten Free Fish And Chips In England!!!!! I Am Still In Awe!

I have had halal gluten free fish and chips across the country, but this place simply blew me away!!!!

I honestly did not expect my takeaway large gluten free cod and small chips to be anything more than average. They even asked if I want lemon and gherkins, which I did, together with their homemade mayonnaise.. which I though they said is homemade tartar sauce, only to go home to discover it’s homemade mayonnaise. The fish batter was thin, crispy and melt in the mouth. I had to call to recheck it’s definitely gluten free! It was truly delectable. The cod was flaky and deliciously meaty too.. and the chips were chunky, crispy and fluffy! Everything was made completely fresh for me, as I walked in at 12pm on a warm Friday afternoon. It did take 25 minutes, because they had just opened, which I was happy with, as it gave me time to browse through nearby shops.

The person who served me was very friendly, polite and catered to my needs well. His customer service made me even more comfortable I placed my order here.

There is seating if you wish to eat in, which are quintessentially to traditional fish abs chips, with brand new wooden tables and chairs.. it’s lovely and clean too!

I have had halal gluten-free fish and chips across the country, and quite often the batter is thick and chewy. It can be a very difficult combination to find halal and gluten free.

I still cannot fathom the delicious taste, texture and freshness here!!

I ordered online as my local chippy was closed and this was new and seemed to have good reviews. Wish I hadn’t. I ordered a large cod with a small chips and had instant regret upon tasting. The fish was very flat and was not shaped like a normal cod fillet, and was not large at all. It was very tasteless, from the fish to the batter. Simply…tasteless. Lacking any sort of flavour. Chips were okay but not great. Even the tartar sauce was horrible. Quite shocked tbh. Wanted to find a new chippy for options but shocked at how bad and tasteless this was. Very disappointed. Today 6th, December 2024 My wife, Sister in law, & her partner & I attended this fish restaurant after seeing the reviews of how wonderful this venue was. We had to wait some 35 minutes before we got our food, when it turned up the Whitebait was very over cooked as was the Calamari & the Scampi, the Cod was passable but the Chicken Breast that my Sister in law had was so over cooked it was crunchy & so very dry & was unedible. Do Not believe the reviews for this restaurant as I believe them to be Bogus! I would NOT go back to this fish restaurant for all the tea in china. On paying the bill they tried to charge me a restaurant charge that was Not on the menu, this I refused to pay.
