Sunnyhill Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in London

My partner and I have been here many times and have absolutely loved it, so we decided to celebrate his 50th birthday there. Unfortunately our most recent experience was a little bit disappointing. We booked a table for 8 people and when we arrived they had set up a table for 6. They gave us two folding chairs to go at each end, which were practically touching the tables behind them. My 65 year old mother sat on one of them and later fell, hurt her arm and felt very embarrassed. For some reason no one came to take our food order so it was left to me to do it and order at the till. Then when a selection of starters arrived and we asked for small places they told us there wasn't space (which there was) so it was quite awkward and messy, as many of the starters had dipping sauces so we had to use napkins instead of plates. Lastly, and most disappointingly, no one took our plates away when we were finished and they even brought out the birthday cake when our table was still covered in food leftover, dirty plates and rubbish. We had to clear it ourselves. I should note that the food was just as amazing as ever, but if you're planning to go, and there are more than 4 you, I'd go somewhere else. The restaurant is just too small to handle groups...

Food is amazing. Price is very reasonable. Dine in atmosphere is not recommended because its small and cold. We had to keep our jackets on as it was very cold. But don't let this to put you off! Because the food is definitely a must try to any foodie out there. Especially when the price is very reasonable and the quantity comes in big portion. So enjoy the feast instead of looking to complain. I tried the Pad Thai ( 9 over 10). My family had the aromatic duck and dumplings and Dim Sum they enjoyed it. Popped in for dinner on a Sunday evening after the cinema as family of four. Restaurant is very small (only seats about 10) but there was room for us and we were given a friendly welcome. Food was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals, even the kids who have only had Thai food a couple of times before. Very reasonably priced too. We took our own wine as it's BYO. We're not often in the area but would be happy to go back when we are or investigate their takeaway options. Less stars for atmosphere just because of the frequent delivery drivers and simple decor but worth it...
