First Impression - Nice friendly and welcoming staff, great ambience, seating in ample and prompt service. Parking 9/10 Seating 10/10 Music 9/10 Washroom 9/10 Staff 10/10 Service 10/10 Menu 10/10 Pricing 9/10 Baby Friendly 10/10 We ordered special Chicken Fry, Roomali Roti Shawarma, Chattichorru and Alfaham kaanthari Mandi with Fresh Lime Mint Soda. Our order arrived in 15-20 minutes. The overall quality and quantity of the food was satisfactory. The flavour and taste could have been better but the quantity was perfect. I felt the Kaanthari mandi could have been spicier but the staff mentioned that most customers find it too spicy so they mellowed it down. You can tell them prior if you need spicier. The rice and chicken both lacked the authentic mandi punch. Mandi was served with Mayonnaise, Tomato Chutney, light salad and Lemon wedge. My Rating 8/10 Chattichorru portions were large enough for two persons. It had an Authentic Kerala flavour. it was served with pappadoms, Parippu Currey Rasam and Payasam. My Rating 9/10 Fresh Lime mint Soda was perfect to wash down the meal. My Rating 10/10 Roomali Roti Shawarma was great. My Rating 9/10 My favourite turned out to be the starter itself which was the special Spicy Chicken fry. Served with fried green chillies and onion slices and a quarter of a lemon to squeeze on the top. My Rating 10/10 Our bill turned out to be £53. You can pay via cash or card. Overall the experience was great, will visit again if visiting Ilford. Overall Rating 9/10 ( It's a must visit)

To the owner, I visited your store around 2:30 in the noon on Sunday (29/07/2024). The girl who took the order wasn’t even concentrating on what the customers are ordering. I’ve ordered gopi Manchurian and she gave me the paneer manchurian. There’s too much of color in the food and also found a stone in the food. I’ve attached the picture as you can see. Followed my we’ve ordered parotta and chicken curry which was good and again the food color in the curry is too much, even after washing the hands the color was still on the hands. We’ve ordered pani puri where the stuffing was too much and the pani was served very little. We’ve ordered lime sharabath the sharabath flavour was too much which was way too much in the drink. We’ve also ordered dry fruits shake the shake wasn’t good too. The girl didn’t even bothered to bring the drinks until we asked for drinks and didn’t even bring the drinks in the serving plate. She directly got it with her hands. Coming to the hygiene it’s the worst I’ve ever seen in UK. There’s are flies all over the place and on the food too. This is way too worst. I would really not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I stay very near to the store and after eating I had to rush to the hospital because of the food from your restaurant. The queen's hospital doctor recommended not to step into the restaurant ever again.

Another restaurant opening near to me, and this being a Kerala cuisine, which I have never tried, so thought have to see what this is all about. Restaurant is always pretty much busy, but we found seating for 2 when I visited. Waitress was very friendly and well informed of what the dishes are, as we needed recommendations. We got a machurian cauliflower, and wow great flavours, had a nice spice kick to it, and quantity was impressive. The mains, I cannot tell you the name as I unfortunately forgot, but one had poratha with a mixture of beef roast, and chicky curry in between more poratha. 4 great sized and freshly made. Beef was amazing, with a thick sauce, chicken was great. My friend had a thali style dish, but had rice underneath, with a variety of dishes and pickles on top. There was a sprinkle of what I think was coconut but it didn't taste nice. Everything was on point. Amazing portion, I would say 2 people can share. No room for desert but just enough for a tea. We went for the traditional tea, which is made at front, and looks like everyone goes for this. I would say the first sip was a bit weird, but then it grew on the me, and now I actually really like it. Overall great quality and quantity, fresh ingredients, a great selection, friendly staff. Definitely try this cuisine, and I will be back to try other options.

Title: Disappointing Visit to Chai Kada Ilford

As a regular patron of Chai Kada, I've generally been pleased with the culinary experience it provides. However, my recent visit to the Ilford location with three friends was notably disappointing, compelling me to share my thoughts.

We ordered an array of dishes, primarily from the Kerala menu—porotta, puttu, chicken roast, and beef roast—along with some Arabic selections. Unfortunately, the food, especially the beef, did not meet our expectations. It was overly spicy, masking any other flavors, and not in a pleasant way. The intense and dark spice kick was unlike the consistent taste I've come to expect from Chai Kada.

Consistency is key in the culinary world, and part of what draws me back to a restaurant is knowing what to expect. Sadly, this was not the case this time. Both my friends and I found ourselves dissatisfied, a sentiment that was surprising given the restaurant's reputation and our previous experiences.

Another sticking point was the pricing. The food did not justify the high costs, particularly when the quality did not meet expectations. This combination of high prices and underwhelming flavors makes it difficult for me to recommend Chai Kada to others moving forward.

This review reflects only my latest experience. As a once-frequent customer, it's disheartening to see such a dip in quality and enjoyment. I hope this feedback reaches the management and that they can address these inconsistencies. For now, I am reluctant to plan...
