Honestly a little lost for words on this one!!! So much promise, what an amazing atmosphere * Super busy and packed, but we waited over 1.5 hrs for our starters for a table of 4. That's fine too and also understandable with a massively busy place, having dabbled and being in the industry, it happens on days and so I completely get it. But staff should have been on top of it and at least apologised or tried to let us know..... Okay so leave that aside too.

The Margarihtas were good but a little pricy for the size.

The food - great presentation on most things, but did not light my world on fire, being a little of a confirmed food critic, I would have given it from 4 to a max of 6.5 *

The Mac Taco, a little weird in combination, the truffle.oil perhaps saved it a little, but still not a great mix of flavours. 4*

The Fish Taco, chewy weird better, slaw was plain and the salsa ordinary . 4*

The Prawn Taco, seemed like a deep fried Panko Prawn you can buy frozen from most supermarkets now, so no.points there- but the slaw and the spice from what I tasted was Siracha, with their salsa, did kind work.....So 6*

The Sweet Potato Taco - sweet potato was a soggy mess, should have been crisped on the outside on the grill, but was not. For a sweet potato taco to work you need to get the almond salsa spot on, it was anything but. It was think and condensed and even though they added the little.heat it needed, the balance was not there for the whole dish to work. 5* at best !

The Pork Belly Taco - honestly I never tried it, so.cant review it .

I would probably raise all of the above Tacos to another half a * ... The reason being is that we ordered the gluten free tacos because of one party member . They just had a weird flour/bitter after taste ! Not sure why they just never had corn tortillas for their Gluten Free option ??? Anyway, I'm sure a little higher rating if we had their normal flour tortillas.

Starters - Chorizo with Algave- Tuna Tostada - Pork Tostada - and Chicken Quesidilla -

Chorizo 7* Tuna Tostada 6.5* the rest uggghhhj!!!!!

Have to mention 1 thing though!!!!!

A 22 year old, who has litterally worked there for 1 week, wow, what service, attention, great attitude - you would at the very least think he had worked there for 2 years and was an assistant manager, if not manager !!!!

Kudos to having a staff member like that, ridiculously good service and so my overall rating will be for him and the great atmosphere!!!! If they get the food completely right, this place will be...

Really disappointing food. Taco comes with barely any meat inside, just filled with salad at £13+ each is a bit of a joke. We got 4 portions of tacos which was about enough for 2 people. We also got padron peppers as a starter and they were not great.

Duck taco tasted good but such little meat inside. The salmon taco was really flaky and dry, as if they had microwaved the salmon after it had already been cooked or something. It had a fishy taste, didn’t seem fresh. The prawn taco was very very oily and was dripping oil on the plate, it made me feel quite sickly. Also only had 2 little prawns on top and the rest was salad.

The staff cleared my boyfriends plate while I was still eating, and then put the desert menu in front of him while I was still eating my taco. Even though he didn’t even ask for the dessert menu yet. We were there at around 6pm, and the staff that greeted us at the door seemed to be really pressed about where we could sit. There were only 3 small tables inside taken and it had so many tables of 2 free. I really didn’t see what the big fuss was about and was confused, it seemed a bit funny when all the tables around us were empty. He said he would need the table back which was very rude since the restaurant was almost empty??? What a way to greet a customer…

Overall underwhelming, disappointing and won’t be coming back… would...

Cheeky chicos in Clapham has been my favourite place but sadly after tonight I don’t think I will be back again. I have a severe food allergy which has always been accommodated but tonight I was made to feel like I was being an imposition. The manager was particularly unfriendly and made me feel as if he wanted me to leave rather than order. He suggested a very limited menu compared to what I had previously ordered at the restaurant. When I asked him why I couldn’t get what I previously had ordered, he insinuated that I wasn’t actually allergic and was pretending. He made me feel so uncomfortable to the point where I offered to show him my latest medical report from my specialist to prove that I was not lying. Very disappointing. We remained at the restaurant and ordered from the curtailed menu as I didn’t want to inconvenience my friend and try and find another place. This was a mistake, as the food we got was hurried out with absolutely no care and was very tasteless. This made me regret my decision to stay at the restaurant. To be clear, it’s still a great restaurant and I’ve always had an amazing time there, as I understand they have to take allergies seriously and warn against risks. I am also happy to accept the risk of cross contamination as my own. However, I was quite shocked at the manager’s attitude and it’s...

This is a quirky little spot in Clapham with good energy for a dinner with friends. We arrived and were seated promptly. Every table was full so I think a reservation was likely necessary. We got nachos, tuna ceviche, mini chorizo, beans, halloumi, and pico de gallo with chips as a starter. All the starters were generous portions, all which could be shared between 2 people. The starters were the star of the meal. For our mains we got chicken tinga tacos, pulled pork tacos and cod tacos which come with two tacos. These were very large and definitely enough to fill us up. There were mixed thoughts across the table on the tacos. The pulled pork tacos were praised, and the chicken were nice too. The cod tasted like good quality but could have used a lot more seasoning and the slaw was dry. Not the best fish tacos I’ve had. Unfortunately, after our initial drinks and food order, none of the servers came up to us again so we weren’t able to order any more drinks. The table was cleared whilst I was still eating which was a bit bizarre. We had to find a server to order dessert, churros. The churros were tasty but undercooked and still doughy on the inside. Overall, it was busy and had good energy, and the staff was very friendly, albeit not as attentive. Good experience, but with all the great Mexican around I might not rush back.
