PROS: Great staff - clean toilets and store - store has about 30 seats - BAE CHIPS - Okay wings - HALAL.
CONS - ALOT of pervy customers - same repettive menu items that just mix the same ingredients - premade packaged food (made on the day and thrown out at end).
RECOMMEND - Chicken wings - chips - chick shish - grilled chicken burger.
DONT HAVE - Vegetable rolo aka wrap STAFF 3.5 FIRST OF ALL THEY HAVE THE FRIENDLIEST STAFF IVE EVER MET AND IT FEELS LIKE A FAMILY DINER. The staff are so considerate for e.g. this one time this lady ordered chicken wings and then when the food came she said she insisted that she had ordered chicken nuggets for her kids. The staff decided to give the lady her nuggets and were very polite while the lady kept raising her voice and giving them attitude.
However the staff arent the best at english and sometimes customers have a hard time communicating. They can be quite loud at times😂. But are generally very very nice. The locals love them LIKE ALOT!!!.
FOOD 3 The food is a 50/50 thing. The chicken wings are best when freshly made (duhh you dont say). They have a crunch and are moist and juicy at the same time. The chicken is kept in the warmer for 45mins and us thrown out afterwards. If ur unlucky abd come on the 40th min the your gona get squishy dryish chicken that tastes stale and meh. Also even when they are freshly made they dry up very quickly when served (not sure why). I would recommend the BBQ wings when u come in one of those times.
Burger burgers burgers!!! Simply put all their burgers basically have the same piece of fried chicken in them but have different names or sizes etc. They all contain the same salad and sauce and yet they have 6 or 8 varieties of them in the menu. This is excluding the fish, veg and grilled chicken burger. But they have this thing called a ROLO, which is a wrap that they simply stuff their fried chciken, veg and fish with the same salad and sauce. SIMPLY PUT THEY HAVE NO VARIETY AND KEEP PUTTING THE SAME MEAT, SALAD SAUCE in everything but add a twist by adding a wrap, bun or cheese or simply increasing the portiob etc. Lacks variety, thus if ur gona be regular dont expect something new. But for first timers not bad but whichever burger u pick its pretty much the same.
Their rice dishes and doner kebabs are all premade and sit in a plastic container and are simply reheaten. They said they are busy and cant keep making them fresh. Understandable but shud shorten the menu i geuss (its not that bad).
BTW THEIR CHIPS ARE BAE. AND GRILLED ITEMS ARE RECOMMENDED.
SHOP 3 The shop is very spacious and nice. The toilets are well maintained aswell unlike some other places (cough cough toilets at brunel uni with cabbage in the loo). Beware sometimes they have pervs here staring at you. Like srsly they have people staring at your face so females beware. The store is usually clean and has 30 seats.
Yep that pretty much sums the...
Read moreSo Being a local I have been going here for over 15 years Barry the owner had a great quality food establishment with the most welcoming staff , but recently there had been a shift in management and since then the standards have completely dropped.
So today I go to order 10 wings 1 chips and quarter pounder meal,
So the manager fries chips before putting the burger on the grill which I Mentioned and he refused to do me a fresh one when my burger was ready, then while my burger is cooking another guy is scraping around my burger flicking all the grit all over my burger , they still served it to me, being a regular I was shocked at this drop in standard. Then I go home in the rain to find out they gave me 5 wings short.
So as you would when your kids are hungry to eat I went back to get my 10 wings fresh and chips fresh. So to this the manager denies everything and becomes incredibly aggressive towards me and starts punching the equipment and even threatens to fight me. To this I step back and let him deny everything. There was however another worker who handled the situation professionally and gave me my 10 wings and made fresh fries, but the manager becoming violent was absolutely unacceptable and denying any wrongdoing.
I won't be coming back here to spend hundreds a year and will also tell all my hundreds of local friends and family not to go there as the hygiene standards are so poor , so thanks to the manager you have now lost thousands of pounds of custom and with that attitude you will lose more loyal customers.
Shocking absolutely shocking. I will persue this further and will be reporting to the police about the threats he made towards me, and will definitely report to EHO as these bad standards can...
Read moreI ordered the chicken fillet sizzler burger meal for £4.99 student offer. I also got extra 3 wings for £1 using another offer that was available at time of this review. They accept both card and cash. There was not a minimum card payment as someone suggested in another review.
Firstly, the food. The food was a mixed bag. The chips (or fries) were not my favourite, but from an objective point of view were crispy outside and soft inside, medium cut.
The Chicken Burger was very nice, but the bun was crumbly and didn't have a nice texture. The Chicken filet was big and tasty though!
The wings were alright. Not great, not bad either. They were on the less-meaty side but I wasn't complaining.
I would highly suggest avoiding the chilli sauce if you don't like the tangy style of chili sauce. If you're the type that likes the spice but not the tang, i'd avoid it. However, if that's your style, go for it.
The service was nice. The atmosphere however was not. It felt rather unclean to eat in there in my opinion. Gave off the vibe that it hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks.
Overall, it was a slightly positive experience, and as always I'm grateful for the food we are able to eat Alhamdulillah.
The student offers are decent and the food is Halal, so I wouldn't mind giving it a go again if it's takeaway maybe. And obviously don't eat this kind of food too often as we all know t's not very good for you, but do feel free to indulge on your...
