for context: I ordered my food in-person.
They have a 15% student discount written out front. Although I was only given a 10% discount but it hadn't occured to me at the time. That's fine though, not that deep.
On the contrary to lots of the old reviews here, the food was hot and tasted decent. The portion size was quite big in one of those Satco microwave containers. I ordered the Beef Chow Mein and given my review id recommend it.
I dont know why but I was given a spoon to eat with lol. I ate the rest at home so wasn't that big of an issue. Be sure to ask them for specific cutlery if you need it.
The state of the shop itself was quite a mess. it doesn't bother me too much but something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to that. It looks like they mostly deal with deliveries anyway so probably not a priority.
To summarise:
Beef chow mein was nice Hot food if collected or ordered in-person (no guarantees with Uber etc.) Tasty Option for spicy if you're like me :) Halal
Messy shop Dumplings may not halal No indoor seating to eat Charged incorrectly Given a spoon to eat noodles
overall 4 stars as the food itself was fine, and that's the most...
Read moreWorst customer service ever. Ordered food on Friday via just eat. App said delivered but it turns out the driver couldn’t get in it call me? Never happened with any other deliveries amd I order via just eat/Deliveroo about once a week. Funnily enough when he came the second time the door was open and he was still stood in the street. Then had to pay extra for another delivery despite the restaurant saying I tried avoiding paying it again. I gave the driver the money straight away. Food was cold, very bland and the salt n pepper chicken was basically breaded chicken with no flavour.
Just thought I’d leave this re use as I found it one of the worst takeaway experiences ever. And with all the google ads on tv at the moment saying leave a review I thought I would just to let people know to avoid this place.
And there food hygiene rating is a 2! If I’d seen that before I would of...
Read moreI ordered a large portion of special fried rice. upon (very late) arrival, I saw that I had been given a small portion but still had to pay for a large as the delivery man explained that it had "nothing to do with him". Having gone through this ordeal, I was certain that nothing else could go wrong, I was wrong. The special fried rice tasted extremely odd, I couldn't finish it. It had very slimy meaty substances inside. It was extremely scary and disgusting. On the side I ordered, garlic chicken which did not taste like garlic... or even chicken for that matter. The 1 star awarded above is for the prawn crackers as they were the only good thing about the meal. They were also free, although a very small bag compared to other Chinese restaurants. I would not recommend this place and I am very angry with Hungry house for misleading me. Worst Chinese...
