Hiya All,
Popped in for an early dinner for 3.
Have not been for quite a while...recent events and all....
Goodish service (more on that later), nice and clean inside.
Had the meze for 3, which was really nice 👌 This included sliced pitta, tzatziki, tarama, hummus, olives, dolma, calamari and grilled holloumi.
Good portions & nicely presented...if I was going to be overly critical, the calamari was slightly overdone...
For the mains, we had the Doner Iskendar, which for me was a lot better then the one I had at Hasturk in Braintree last week. Good portion, lovely doner meat, nice crispy toasted pitta pieces underneath...YUM!
The other main was the chicken fajita. Again this looked and smelt lovely. I personally did not try this, but the food feedback was very positive 👍🏽
Now you must be wondering why 3 stars? Well its because of my milkshake...and if there's one thing I love, it a lovely, thick cold strawberry shake. It tasted like nail varnish 🤮 This was really strange, as the other milkshake (both strawberry) tasted how a strawberry milkshake should taste, but not a patch on a 5 Guys shake.
My lovely lady and cool little dude both tried my shake, as at first they thought I was being silly, but after a taste test they both confirmed that it was simply quite horrible 🤮
The initial attitude of the waitress was very very poor, as she was so adamant that this simply could not be 😢 I really had to convince her that I was not lying, to the point of wanting to leave. Being in a senior managerial position in hospitality myself, I was rather taken aback by this attitude.....I should that our other table waiter was attentive and very polite👍🏽
To not ruin the meal for my family based on a traumatic milkshake encounter and a somewhat poor customer centric experience, I took a step back from trying to convince the waitress that there was something very wrong with the shake, sent it back and opted for a lovely Coke Zero....I was however eyeing up the other shake with jealous eyes 👀 😉
The meal cost just under £68, and of course I was not charged for the horrid shake. Cost wise, I'd say Delicio offers fairly good value for money ££, with the menu offering a really broad selection of cuisine, without being overly extensive.
So all in all and after a somewhat (milk)SHAKEY experience, I'd say Delicio is still...

Read moreI went with friends from my Pilates class so all adults. We went Wednesday evening and it wasn't too busy. The waiter we had was extremely helpful, talked through our orders in detail and made great recommendations. 4 of us had the mixed warm meze for 4. You choose 4 items. We went with hummus, aubergine, prawns and olives. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favourite was the aubergine dish. It was served with bread. The waiter did warn us that the portions were large. By the time we got to the main I was already stuffed. He did offer a takeaway option when he heard what we were ordering..I understood why when the food came. Two of the party shared the combination grill, they were wiser than me because it was more than enough for 2 people. I had it with chips and the others with rice. Everyone went for the grill mains except for someone who had scampi and chips. He didn't seem to eat his dish too enthusiastically but everyone else enjoyed the food. No one had room for dessert so can't comment. You probably just need a main in my opinion just on portion size. I would suggest sharing dishes if you want to do 3 courses unless you're really hungry. I personally would do starter and dessert next time round because it would suffice for me. But plenty of leftovers if you want to...
