Chips n Dat is a vibrant and welcoming restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm and lively atmosphere made us feel right at home. Despite not having a reservation, the staff greeted us with smiles and quickly found us a table, showcasing their accommodating and friendly nature.

The service was efficient and attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly, and the food followed in a timely manner. The wine was perfectly chilled, and the dishes were served warm, just as they should be. The quality of the food was excellent, with each bite delivering delicious flavors and fresh ingredients. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in their craft, and it certainly shows on the plate.

One minor issue we encountered was the volume of the music, which initially made it difficult to hold a conversation. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the staff noticed and promptly adjusted the volume to a more comfortable level. This small but thoughtful gesture highlighted their commitment to ensuring a pleasant dining experience for their guests.

Overall, Chips n Dat delivers a great combination of good food, welcoming service, and a lively atmosphere. While the music volume was a slight hiccup, it was quickly resolved, and it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the evening. The restaurant’s standards are high, and it’s easy to see why it’s a popular choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely be returning in the near future. If you’re looking for a place with great food, friendly service, and a vibrant vibe, Chips n Dat is well...

A group of us met for lunch at Chips n Dat on a Thursday afternoon for some loaded fries and cocktails. It was my first time there, but the others had been before and were excited about going back. I ordered the Thrilla in Banillla cocktail, which looked and tasted delicious and was part of my 5 a day as it was accompanied by a few slices of banana (which were soaked in rum). Whether you wanted meat, fish or vegan topped fries you were well catered for as there was plenty of choice on the menu. I ordered the tex mex vegan fries, which were delicious and turned out to be quite filling. Between all of us we sampled roughly half the cocktail menu as happy hour was soon upon us at 3pm (2 cocktails for £14, mix and match) and they all hit the spot as again they were well presented, fresh and imaginative. The service was quick and you can tell a lot of care and effort goes into the preparation and presentation of the food and cocktails. The restaurant is round the corner from Dalston Junction Station and about a five minute walk from Dalston Kingsland, both on the Overground. If you're in the area and you've got £20 burning a hole in your pocket then this place is worth a look. Now I've been I'm...

Food was super tasty ONCE it had arrived. Short staffed so took an hour to get a drink and put our order in from when we arrived, bit disappointing really as reviews read before going all say the same thing...we must have chosen the wrong day to go!! Small restaurant, kitchen door left open so really smokey inside of the restaurant, clothes smelt like fried cooking really badly when we had left, had to wash them straight away. Congratulations on being your forst estaurant but, due to that night, I'm not sure I would re-attend. Was due to get the bottomless brunch but ended up getting Al la carte menu instead due to the waiting period for drinks and food. Ended up being there for just over 2 hours and had 3 drinks each and 3 plates of food all ordered at the same time, bottomless give you 90 minutes, so would probably of had 1 plate of food for the bottomless price 🙃 End price seemed a little steep for the service but hey ho, good luck in the venture and I hope you iron out...

It is definitely a refreshing sight to see the owner of the business front and centre engaging with guests, Ray did exactly that! Shoutout to Dee, very accommodating and great recommendations! Ray and Dee were very attentive to us both and from what I could see, the rest of the restaurant guests too. We came for shrimp Thursday and tried all flavours but one. Our favourite had to be the honey siracha, great balance between sweetness and the kick of spice from the siracha. We tried a portion of the honey suya wings and we’ll defo be back for Wing Wednesdays! We also dabbled in a cocktail and tried ‘No Passa’, I will always respect a cocktail with Wray and Nephew disguised and it doesn’t end up overpowering the whole drink and this drink did not disappoint at all!! Good music, good vibe and good food! What more can you ask for!

Love this place. New spot. Great simple aesthetic with setaing over 2 floors. Wide range of spirits available and a decent menu with vegan and non vegan options. We ordered a small plate, panko shrimp topped fries (with honey sriratcha sauce - highly recommend), jollof rice and a portion of wings. Was more than sufficient for 2 of us sharing but if you order wings and a side or even just topped fries it would fill you up. Plenty of kerb side parking that is pay by phone or free but also only a short walk from Dalston junction station. Worth the visit. Lovely service from Ray, attentive and talkative which is what you want. Family run business. Fusion food - will go back to try the rest of the menu and would happily regularly go there. Wishing them nothing but success with their venture!!!
