Today, I placed an order via Deliveroo, but unfortunately, it was mistakenly send to my office address instead of my home. I realised this just seconds after confirming the order and immediately attempted to cancel it through the app — but was unable to do so. I then contacted both Deliveroo and your restaurant right away.
I spoke to your receptionist, James, who confirmed he would notify the kitchen not to proceed with the order. Despite this, the order was still prepared and handed to the delivery rider.
What followed was even more unacceptable. I had to contact Deliveroo again and speak with the rider directly to redirect the order. Shockingly, I was threatened by the rider — he said he would not redirect my food unless I tipped him.
What’s more frustrating is that your team clearly had the ability to cancel the order early on but chose to ignore my request. I’ve dined at your restaurant many times before, but after this experience, I will not be returning or recommending it — no matter how good the food is.
This situation has left me angry and deeply disappointed. I plan to leave an honest review on Google to share my experience, and I will be coming in person to request a full refund.
You cannot run a business this way — ignoring customers, failing to act with basic decency, and allowing people to be treated like this. Mistakes happen, we’re human — but how you respond to them matters. I’m certain the kitchen hadn’t even started preparing the food when I made contact.
This level of customer service is completely...
Read moreFood was delicious, make sure to get the bread (the olives were just normal but the bread and dips were amazing) went in for lunch with my partner and our son, can't fault anything on the food, bar a slight mishap on our desert order (doughnuts) which they both corrected straight away and also took off the bill which to be honest wasn't needed but was much appreciated. The staff were so lovey and friendly, it really impressed us, all the kitchen staff were being friendly and playing through the hatch with our son. But the star is the show was definitely our waiter Narinjar, such a gent, so kind and welcoming and really made the experience fit for us. It was a late lunch so a little quiet as they fit us in just before the kitchen closed (thank you) so atmosphere a little lacking but to be honest that's not a complaint just the fact of it. We very much look forward to going back again. Will be singing it's praises to everyone. (Bread &olives, grilled chicken, lamb meatballs, "burnt leaks" & hazlenuts, fresh doughnuts and cheesecake (my partner said its the best cheesecake she's ever...
Read moreI’ve been going to Cinder in St John’s Wood every Friday with my 95-year-old mother since it opened. It’s been our weekly ritual, and we’ve always appreciated the food and the experience — until now.
At around 2:45 pm, with just the two of us left in the restaurant, I raised my voice slightly so my 95-year-old mother — who is hard of hearing — could hear me. The manager came over and told me to be quiet. I approached him calmly afterward, hoping for some understanding, but instead he told me I had “crossed a noise threshold” and insisted she could “hear perfectly well.” As we were settling the bill, he turned the music up loudly, seemingly to make a point — even though I had asked earlier for it to be turned down so she could hear me better.
Before leaving, I gave my number to the chef and asked that the owner, Jake, contact me. It’s now been several days, and I haven’t heard anything back. That silence speaks volumes.
I don’t know how many more Fridays I’ll have with my mother — but I know we won’t be...
