I thought I'd try "Cinnamons" as I really fancied pancakes, I was after the "Aunt Jemima" pancake experience the type I loved when visiting the soul food restaurants in Harlem NYC, what was served up was just the regular style stack pancakes with banana and maple syrup which arrived borderline cold, I didn't complain as it was around fifteen minutes to closing time but I was the only one in the cafe so expected better, when I went up to pay at the counter I was asked whether I liked it, I replied that it was okay but cold, she repeated the word "cold" turned her head, looked up at the price list and said, "that will be five pounds please", š®I paid and thought never again and I mean it! Poor customer service and what I had certainly didn't reflect...
Read moreThis cafe is really small and absolutely lovely. The walls are covered in canvas art decorated with clock hands, glitter, and foam characters (like monkeys) that's all for sale at very affordable prices (about £20 a piece). I had a vegetable and halumi panini and my boyfriend had a chicken and bacon sandwich. Both were very delicious, though his had LOTS of mayonaise. (This was great for him as he's a mayonaise lover, but maybe not for others who don't share his tastes.) The panini was perfectly grilled, so the bread was not burned but the cheese had melted just enough without turning into liquid.
This place is great for a casual afternoon lunch while reading the paper.
Heads up: a pot of tea has about 3 cups...
Read moreA bit of an attitude at the till, I can live with that, however, way over priced for the standard of breakfast. I don't mind paying, but when you use JJ foods, low-budget sausage and bacon, it doesn't give value for money. All in all I paid £17 for a standard breakfast with tea. All of it was way under portion and bad quality.
They also used the end of the loaf of the sourdough thar was no way fresh. Bit of a cheek to be honest.
I will never come here again for any cooked food.
I'll give it 2 star as they played...
