Il Guscio Highbury — Restaurant in London

Normally have an amazing time at this little restaurant. Haven't been able to go for a while, So was excited to go this evening and bring along some friends. Unfortunately the service was unbelievable, never ever expected to feel so bad about a meal here. The waitress was rude and the food was not up to standard. My friend mistakenly ordered something and was not enjoying it, So simply asked if she could change for something else. The waitress replied ' well what did you think u asked for, you got what you ordered" making my friend feel uncomfortable and stupid, she then did not want anymore food at all. Tasting it around the table im not suprised she didn't like It!. Then as we were in mid conversation laughing away another waitress asked if we wanted anything else. To which we replied were fine and carried on into conversation. The previous waitress then comes and says "you have upset the other girl. It's not nice you choose to laugh at her when she is being polite.".. EXCUSE ME?????? no-one was laughing at her. We are just a group of friends having a chat. Never been spoken to like a little child before. I was in shock.. the whole group in shock. So she came back and said she doesn't speak English maybe she misunderstood you. Well happy days!.. after making the whole group feel horrible and embarrassed now you realise she was mistaken? She then proceeded to ask of we wanted deserts and tea. To which we all replied off course not. Didn't want to spend a penny more. Can't explain how fully dissapointed I am and embarressed to bring friends to a place i loved and be let down. She apoligised once for mis comunication but it was 100% genuine. She did not loke us and it showed.. normally on every meal here i have recieved a shot with the bill. Suprise suprise not this...

Il Guscio Highbury is a fantastic Italian restaurant just a short walk from the Emirates Stadium. Whether you're an Arsenal fan or just in the area, this place is a must-visit.

Carlos, the owner, is incredibly warm and welcoming — he makes you feel like you're stepping into his home, not just a restaurant. His hospitality really sets the tone for a great experience.

The food is outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and authentically Italian. You can tell every dish is made with care. From pasta to dessert, everything was delicious.

The atmosphere is always lively, especially after a match. It's the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a great meal, and soak in the local vibe.

Awful experience. Starting with tacky decor - think Range sales shelves,below mediocre food - my non seasoned fish was covered in warmed up passata from the tin with few cold olives thrown in, and my green salad was just supermarket iceberg from the bag without any dressing - yummy. But by far the worst of all was allowing some tone deaf guests to use karaoke on highest volume without even asking if it would bother the rest of us. When we booked the table no one mentioned that there is a karaoke machine too. I would have never booked if I knew we were going to be exposed to that braying.
