Costa Coffee — Restaurant in London

Decided to pop in as it is local to where I work and back up north im known to have a costa coffee addiction, however the gent that served me a week ago may have broken that addiction with his poor attitude and service. First of all it was quite early in the day, not just before they were due to close so quite personally I do understand the strop he was in because I walked through the door, he was laughing and joking with a colleague and as soon as he saw me his whole demeanor changed, he didn't smile, he didn't make eye contact and he clearly didn't listen to my order because he done it for eat in when I specifically said take out and then made me feel like I was the one who messed up, he then proceeded to break the cake i ordered into pieces to try get it in the bag even dropping it in the tray and scooping it back up still trying to serve it me before sense kicked in and he got me a new one, this whole time he looked like he would rather be somewhere else but at the place of business and whilst I allow people to have their bad days it's a been a week and I am still offended and appalled by the service I have received and though it's close to where I work I've not gone in again and I've warned others of the service I got as well. Very slow service. Not very much seating, a small costa. Wouldn't be very suitable for a large group of people unless you happened to get the sofa and armchairs near the front (or a booth type seating at the back) this Costa is Right next to a busy main road, hard to relax because very hectic. Seating is very close together and can't get in and out of chair properly without disturbing the person behind you. I feel uncomfortable in the environment. The staff are very kind and helpful. They don't sell coffee to have at home (cafetiere or espresso) they sell Tassimo pods though. All their food and drink is well stocked up. There is a book shelf and play area for children which is nice. Place is clean and hygienic.. however queues is very long and seating is crampt and doesn't feel intimate and i wouldn't be able to relax and read or work on laptop etc. There is plug sockets for charging devices which is good. The menu is hard to read with small writing and the spotlighting reflects on the menu and you can't read it at certain angles which I think is poorly designed. I feel very stressed here, I think they need more staff. And I've just overheard they are training staff so she is unable to do certain tasks as she is not trained to do them yet. In general unfortunately I would not come here again because of high stress...

Fantastic service, efficient and friendly, professional. Disappointed with Costa in queens hospital so many times as enployee there and endless ques are so frustrating particulary as we have only half a hour break. Also you have to stand between freedges that pump out heat from tge cooling system so if you don't faint waiting you certainly are frustrated. Why not make necessary changes if making so much money and mostly on the nurses that are so busy anyhow????? I guess you should aprechiate customers that keep returning regardless of the time waste. I guess nobody cares about this feedback anyway so yes great service in...
