Cheap and quality ales but very much a 'locals local' who don't make you feel very welcome (even though I live across the street!). Clientele almost go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome. A mate and I just happened to be sitting at 'someone else's table' so instead of finding somewhere else to sit they bullied us into moving. I've also had this whilst standing at the bar where I was pretty much nudged out of the way as I was clearly in their spot too! Pretty sad really so you're better off at The George down the street if you're not part of this in-crowd and can't be bothered with glares if you're face isn't familiar. Read moreWent for lunch at the Cricketers today with my 90 year old Mum for my Birthday. We both ordered the hunters chicken . Mine was not edible it was crucified part of it I could not cut . Mums was not so bad but not good. Food was served on cold plates . I did call the lady over and told her. She took my food back to kitchen and came back and offered me a free drink which I refused as I was driving .I wasn't offered an alternative meal. Read moreOur go to local, the pub landlords and staff are great and always friendly. Prices are good, and there's usually something on to get the locals going. Pub is split in two, so if you're not keen on the entertainment you can usually have a quiet one on the other side. Dog friendly too, and loads of outdoor seating so great in summer.
Bonus, Sunday roasts aren't bad - well priced, no nonsense. Nice people you'd want to support...
