Le Mahzen Chocolatier & Coffee — Restaurant in London

I am a Zumba instructor locally for Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure centres, and I have arrived to Redbridge Drama Centre much earlier than my class. As I was walking the streets to find a quant place to have a hot drink and a cheeky treat, I found these outdoors tables where I envisioned myself just taking some time for myself. It’s a tiny but very cozy place, they offer a big range of hot drinks like coffee and hot chocolate drinks, cakes and biscuits. Even tho, this chocolatier is on the main road connecting South Woodford and other towns, I had a pleasant and quiet time here. The gentleman who served me was very kind, and courteous to bring my order to the table. I wanted to try the chilli chocolate, which was absolutely smooth even with my slight tolerances to spices, and the chocolate cake was also very pleasant! I think I found my new favourite regular place to hang out alone or even with my local Zumba classes...

I've been meaning to leave a review about this place for a long time - it's really a hidden gem! 💎

One comment though: this place needs to be open longer! Please swap the morning shift for an evening one - you have no idea how lovely it would be to wind down here after a long day at work.

The staff are very sweet and have sometimes surprised us with chocolate strawberries or profiteroles when I visit with a guest. (Also, top tier service. No wonder the cafe is always so busy.)

The atmosphere is lovely - although maybe not for you if you don't like romantic French music! Great date spot though, and very cosy.

They have some vegan options and a range of chocolates to choose from, as well as pastries and some savoury items.

I can’t recommend this chocolatier highly enough! We tried their homemade Dubai-style chocolate, and it completely blew us away. Having experienced the real thing in Dubai and tasted countless imitations since returning home, we were genuinely stunned by how perfectly this chocolate captured the original – if anything, it might even be better!

The richness, smoothness, and perfect balance of flavours transported us straight back to the Middle East. It’s clear that an incredible amount of love and craftsmanship goes into every bite. This isn’t just a copy – it’s an authentic experience in its own right.
