Nestled in the heart of South Woodford lies a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience – the best Indian restaurant in town. Under the expert guidance of world-renowned chef Iqbal, this establishment has become synonymous with culinary excellence. From the moment you step through the doors, you are greeted with the tantalizing aromas of authentic Indian spices. Each dish is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to perfection. The flavors are bold, the presentation exquisite, and every bite is a journey through the diverse and vibrant tapestry of Indian cuisine. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its impeccable service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always eager to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and pampered. Whether you're a seasoned food enthusiast or a first-time visitor, you can expect nothing short of excellence in every aspect of your dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is equally enchanting, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal out. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a taste of India, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this beautiful restaurant highly enough. For those seeking an exceptional dining experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than this culinary haven in South Woodford.

Wouldn’t recommend. Went here for Eid dinner with the family - reserved ahead. The restaurant is minimally decorated - a bit outdated but looks ok. There was no atmosphere here at all - we were some of the only diners there on a Friday evening (after 7pm) - another family came in towards the end however. As a South Asian, I wouldn’t recommend this place for the food - which of course is the only reason you’d go here obviously. I think the food is more tailored to a western palette perhaps - not surprising considering the location. We ordered a number of items from the menu and nothing blew us away - although the prices definitely do. Pretty extortionately priced for what it is and because of this, I expected way better. The biriyani had so many whole dry spices left in there that it left an awful after taste - I had a cardamom, aniseed, part of a cinnamon stick etc in practically every bite - needless to say, most of it was left uneaten. The curries were decent - nothing special at all, have had way better in more basic places. The only decent thing we had was the chilli paneer. The service was not great at all - don’t want to be negative but felt quite unwelcoming and rude right from the start, maybe they didn’t appreciate the fact that we wouldn’t spend money on alcohol. Found the waiter/ manager to be quite rude and abrupt. Will definitely not return.

The food at Namak was amazing - Indian food done right. The perfect level of spice in all the dishes and a real death of flavour. To start we had the chilli paneer and the samosa chat. The chilli paneer was one of the best I’ve ever had, a nice kick and crispy paneer in a thick sauce. The samosa chat had so many different ingredients in it including pomegranate, blueberries and chickpeas, different sauces but everything complemented eachother so well. The mains I had the paneer tikka and the dahl as I’m veggie - the dahl had a lovely death of spice and you could tell it had been cooked for a long time. My partner had the lamb shank curry - the meal fell of the bone and had been cooked to perfection. Barely any fat on it. The rice and roti complemented the dishes perfectly. The service was brilliant, the waiters were so attentive but not overbearing. The Atmosphere was buzzing and had a range of different ages and backgrounds which shows it’s a very popular restaurant. We will definitely be going back to Namak many times in the future, can’t recommend enough if you want an authentic, modern Indian restaurant and want to excite your tastebuds!
