Read moreBeen going to this restaurant for years. This is the only Pakistani restaurant that I would go to. I travel all the way from East London as this restaurant consistently provides tasty food at reasonable prices.
I love their large mixed grill, their chicken shish and lamb sheesh are so tender. The chicken and lamb sheekh kebabs are delicious. Their keema parathas are Devine. For the mains I love their spring lamb curry on the bone, their Tarak Dhaal and butter chicken their butter chicken is not like the rubbish you get in other restaurants, so some might think it’s not proper butter chicken but let me tell, you it taste good. I have never had a bad dish in Dar’s restaurant.
Please ignore the the low star comments, I believe that’s their competitors family and friends leaving negative comments, to steal their business.
My only gripe would be in the past the keema parathas needed more keema in it, but that has been rectified and the keema parathas i had yesterday were full of keema and flavour.
To the waiter Milton. You’re awesome and an asset to the restaurant. Both Ali and Maj you guys never fail to deliver on quality and service, so thank you.
Thank you for accommodating my family in the past with our large gatherings and being very respectful to my autistic nephew even when he became loud and boisterous, Ali and Maj you guys dealt with him, like he was your own child and the love and care you showed him, to make him comfortable was amazing and you guys didn’t moan once. You guys are a credit to the industry.

Our meal started with the Mix Grill, which was nothing short of a feast. This generous platter had an array of delights: tender lamb kebabs, perfectly spiced shish kebabs, succulent chicken wings, juicy lamb chops, and flavorful chicken legs. Each bite was packed with layers of spices, expertly grilled to perfection. The meat was tender with a lovely char on the outside, and every mouthful felt like a celebration of the traditional flavors of South Asia.
And while the food alone would have been enough to bring us back, it was the service that truly set Dar’s apart. Miltan, who served us with food, treated us with such warmth and attentiveness that it felt as though we were dining like royalty. He anticipated our needs, made excellent recommendations, and shared stories behind each dish, adding a personal touch that made the experience unforgettable.
Dar’s Hampstead is not just a restaurant; it’s a hidden gem for anyone looking to savor authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine.
