DO NOT BOOK! No bed for guest!!! This is by far the WORST HOTEL EVER! On arrival we were informed by a very rude receptionist that they only had bed for 6 of us and no bed for the 7th person as they were full booked! Initially I thought they meant that the 7th person would be sleeping on a pull out sofa or camp bed? But no they actually meant there was NO BED for the 7th person and basically that was that! We were due to go out within the hour we had absolutely no choice but to take a duvet and pillow on the floor! Yes that’s right on the FLOOR! Receptionist kept saying not my fault! But to make matters worse they insisted we paid FULL PRICE FOR 7 BEDS! Absolutely no negotiation at all! So we had been informed by email that the triple room we had booked was no longer available but they offered 2 doubles instead which was fair. They later sent the very same email with a paragraph beneath ( not on top so it was obviously new information) stating that they they could only offer 1 double- so it was clear that they knew of this issue a month ago and made zero effort to resolve the issue! (Owing to the top of the email being identical it had not been noticed) No telephone call or text or further email to confirm that we understood and agreed to the new information. All the receptionist kept saying you didn’t reply so you agreed to this! Well actually no! We made a contract with the hotel to supply 7 beds! The hotel had a duty to resolve this with us prior to us attending. The hotel is an absolute dump! Filthy staircases, coffee machine didn’t work, hairdryer didn’t work, light fittings hanging out the ceiling! Room smelt horrid! But the staff are simply the rudest unhelpful individuals! A word to the wise, avoid...
Read moreWe booked the hotel for 2 nights, a double room and twin room for our children. We were visiting London for our eldest daughters graduation. We travelled down Wednesday 02/03 after work, arriving approx. 9pm. Hotel in a great location, just a few stops from Euston on the northern line. Hotel only a couple of minutes walk from tube station. Check in was very slow, and the young guy on reception wasn't very talkative. Got given our rooms, one on first floor and one on 3rd. We went to our double on 1st floor first. As we walked in noticed a dirty coffee cup, used tissues, open water bottles etc. Once in the room properly it was clear the room hadn't been serviced since the last guest checked out....it was a mess! Bed not made, rubbish everywhere etc. Told the kids to go and check their room while I went back down to reception. Once I could finally get thro to the guy on reception that the room wasnt prepared (and after him going to check himself!!) he said he needed to contact his Manager. After an age (almost 10pm at this point) finally told "sorry....no other rooms and nothing they could do" therefore left without a room for us to sleep in and having to make other arrangements. Not good enough!! No offer to prepare the room, or call round any other hotels for available rooms....clearly a "we've had your money but you can now fend for yourself". Got a refund for the room, however just not good enough.....10pm at night and trying to find alternative arrangements is not my idea of a pleasant trip to London to celebrate my daughters...
Read moreHaving been a loyal guest at this hotel for a continuous period spanning over 15 years, it is with a degree of regret that I must acknowledge a noticeable decline in its standards. During my recent stay, I was assigned to room G03.
Throughout the years, my repeated patronage of Nox was primarily attributed to the amiability and helpfulness of the staff. However, my recent experience left much to be desired.
There were several significant shortcomings in the room. Firstly, the use of sliding doors for the cupboards and kitchen area would have been far more practical, as managing the standard hinged doors proved to be quite a challenge. Additionally, the bed frame appeared oversized for the relatively narrow room, leading to numerous occasions where I inadvertently collided with it, resulting in bruises. The mattress, unfortunately, was too thin, and after just three days, it left our backs in considerable discomfort.
I would strongly recommend that senior management personally experience a stay in this room to corroborate my observations. Moreover, it was disappointing to find that the allocation of toilet roll appeared rather limited. Despite hanging the "room cleaning required" sign on the door, the room was not cleaned, and I had to dispose of the garbage myself, following the receptionist's instructions. This is, in my view, an unacceptable lapse in service. I am accustomed to the cleaning staff tending to tasks such as dishwashing and kitchenette maintenance, which, regrettably, was not the case during this...
