I usually don’t have a problem with this place, and ok I didn’t have to wait an hour like I did 1 time a few years ago, but 30 minutes, well that’s still way to long. As soon as I walked in I could smell oil, something didn’t smell right, it was like the oil was off or hadn’t been changed. When I got home I proceded to eat my chips and they tasted nasty. Soggy, and you could taste the oil. The fish was WORSE! Absolutely horrid it was soft and mushy and had no flavour whatsoever. I’m happy to wait if they cook your food fresh which he did but I expect better as this place is usually spot on.
Also the same issue as that time I had to wait an hour, the Deliveroo/just eat driver curse. You care more about delivery orders when you have paying customers waiting in line to be served.
Next time I go in there I’ll order based on who served me the good quality I’ve come to expect
I came back again 2nd June in the evening and it was spot on. Just the wait times again were long. I explained my previous experience and the same guy was apologetic which I appreciated.
Why did it take an age to reply here though? Guys we live in the 21st century you need to look at...
Read moreSunday evening I ordered for the first time - Haddock was amazing, I gave you a review that said 10/10. It was so good I ordered again today on Wednesday and the food is terrible, 2/10! The haddock was not cooked properly, slimy bottom and cold in the middle because it needed longer, the fish was broken in the box and looked like it had a bite missing, probably where it was taken out and fell apart because it was underdone and a piece went missing, or they tried it - eating my fish, knew it was under and still sent it anyway. The batter this time was also nowhere near as good in comparison. There has to be 2 different people that cooked it from Sunday and Wednesday. Sunday chef is proper and Wednesday’s chef needs firing. You’ve got one job - to cook a fish and you can’t even do that. The cod I ordered was also horrible and didn’t taste right! I put both in the air fryer for a few minutes, they came out ruined just like they went in and I could not eat it. You ruined dinner and wasted £30 of my money! I will...
Read moreOnce upon a time you could go into a fish and chip shop and say. Fish Supper, salt and vinegar, and a can of drink. It was simple, it was easy, it was almost enjoyable and part of the experience.
Now everything is so complex you need to navigate through stupid questions and decipher a complex pointless menu codec with rules and regulations before you can walk out with food and fill your belly.
Stop complicating everything. The world used to be simple, life used to be easy.
It’s now a mess of overly complicated pointless processes.
You chips are good your fish has too much batter and is over cooked and far too crispy.
Your staff play too many silly games with the menu rules and regulations. And your menu has multiple English phrase meanings that confuse everyone.
‘A fish supper please.
Salt? Sauce?
Yes please.
There you go.
Thanks.
Goodbye, have a lovely meal.’
That’s it, that’s all it needs to be. Anything more than that is a...
