I want Beza Saturday the 14th and was a major mistake going there!!! The restaurant was empty but waiting time to be seen by staff member was long.

really looking forward to a good meal, after reading the reviews we thought it looked good, but wrong. The service was horrible, we been waiting for ages to be seated by the host and when we wanted to order our choice of dishes the hostess seemed very confused with very little product knowledge. I asked for someone else to come and take our order a lady which looks like the owner of the establishment was so rude, unprofessional, with arrogant attitude she thinks that I was there to use her service for free. I wanted firfir (ፍርፍር) which is broken pieces of flatbread injera cooked with spaces and stew surprisingly the person who owns an Ethiopian food business did not know this dish. And of course I tried to explain what firfir was she however, said we don't cut tomatoes and make others dishes because we are allergic to tomato and we serve only vegan foods.

I was confuse firfir was vegan food too .

After a long argument with her we left without eating there. Overall, I cannot say anything bad about the food but I certainly think that some training around people skills and customer service skills are needed.

No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night. That should have been our first clue to turn around and go to a...

Amazing food, hostile service??

Update the morning after: I had booked the table for 2 using their online service, and the waitstaff was immediately unwelcoming despite us arriving on time.

We ordered a jug of ‘Beza’s Special’ (red wine sangria) but instead got ‘Beza’s Twist’ (white wine sangria) which really wasn’t an issue. The problem was when we went to order another jug later of specifically the one with red wine. The waitstaff argued with us saying that the jug we originally received was the red wine one ??? Girlll it was literally yellow, why would you double down on this???

Anyway she returns with the red wine one, which was red.

Once the bill had been settled, we asked the different server if it was ok for us to stay until we finished our drinks (one glass each left of the jug). She said that was fine.

5 minutes later the original waitstaff told us that we had to leave because the “booking only covers an hour” and we had overstayed. Granted, there were no more outdoor seats, but plenty indoors. The online booking confirmation stated nothing of this 1 hour slot!

The food was really excellent and fresh. Unfortunately not worth the experience.

Please note, I do not like conflict- as we were both former or present waitresses, we don’t complain to waitstaff. The interaction was so needlessly...

My boyfriend and I went here last year for my birthday just before lockdown, and had such a lovely experience!

I really enjoyed the healthy, mouth-watering food that was served. Not only was it delicious but we enjoyed the experience of sharing and tasting a wide range of authentic Ethiopian food with a nice variety of flavours from ordered the vegan food platter (highly recommend). They served cold tea with the meals which I found to be a refreshing addition to the hearty food!

Beza (who has the kindest soul) made me feel very welcomed! When my BF booked the table he informed her that it was for my birthday, then on arrival, to both our delight we found out that she had a little surprise for me waiting! I felt so special because she had gone out of her way to make this a special occasion for me and I feel very grateful for that 🙏

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and plan on going back in the near future!

Thank you to Beza for this experience...

We were there to celebrate the 60th birthday of my friend Carlo. He is vegan and we booked this place to have a little celebration dinner before the big party the day after. We were 18. The place is beautiful, the staff is incredibly helpful, always smiling and giving good advice, super polite, and competent. We had the FEAST, and that means they give you big plates that must be shared by the whole table, so you basically eat the whole menu, and they keep coming and feed you more food until you decide to stop eating. This is part of the Ethiopian tradition of conviviality and to share food is sharing love. As you can imagine a party of 18 is not easy to manage but the whole staff was so charming and graceful throughout the meal that we really did not want to leave. I apologise for not taking enough pictures of the food but it was so delicious we almost forgot to take a picture of it. I highly recommend it. Thank you for making this special occasion even more special.

We really enjoyed our visit to Beza, very refreshing food and flavours. I loved the variety of lentils and chutneys they had, it was very interesting. Their Affogato and Ethiopian coffee were also yummy, however the banana bread was very okay and nothing special. The only feedback I’d like to give though is that it would be nice if they had an A la carte menu as well for people who do not wish to eat so much, as the food in their Set menu really is quite heavy and difficult to get through, and they only offer Set menus. Another bizzare observation is that all three of us who visited and had this food at Beza experienced a very upset stomach the next two days. I’m not sure if this is due to the quality of ingredients used and whether they use tinned or fresh lentils. I hope they look into it because they can improve the experience by miles, and I really do like the concept and what they had to offer in general.

We stumbled upon this Ethiopian restaurant by chance, and what a lucky find it was! The set menu offered a beautiful variety of dishes, each bursting with distinct flavors that somehow came together in perfect harmony on the plate. Every bite felt like a new discovery, and the way the spices and textures worked together was simply incredible. Our server, Su, was warm, attentive, and made the experience even more special. We even received a surprise extra dish — a delicious treat that felt like a little gift from the kitchen. What made the meal even more remarkable is that my friend, who had never tried vegan food before, was blown away by how flavorful and satisfying everything was. It turned into a completely unexpected culinary adventure — one of those meals you’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try something vibrant, authentic, and utterly delicious!
