After being recommended DropShot Coffee by my other half that has worked in the local area for 4 years now, I thought that this could be my new potential coffee spot.
I live 45 minutes away from Southfields, we are more than happy to travel for a great coffee. I arrived at DropShot on my own at around 11:45 and noticed it was quite busy, I did spot 2 tables that where empty and another free table that was occupied with empty coffee mugs. I asked if there was a free table for me to grab a bite to eat and was told "No" by the young lady staff member. I was quite surprised as to how blunt she was however the shop was busy so I didn't dwell on this. I ordered my flat white and patiently waited, and after a short wait my coffee was ready. As I was adding sugar and putting the lid back onto my drink I noticed two lovely ladies with prams had asked for a table for two of which a different member of staff quickly tried to shift some things around to get them seated. Very kind, however I'm stood behind with coffee in hand feeling like a spare tool.
I spoke with this member of staff and asked why I was not offered a table to which his reply was there must of been some sort of miscommunication. I'm very sure that me asking for a table and being told no is far from a miscommunication, following this the lady member of staff returned with a breakfast plate for herself in hand then sat down at one of the free tables (could of offered me this table). The gentleman that helped the two ladies then was trying to be kind and clear the table with the mugs on for me, however at this point I had been standing in there for about 10 minutes with my coffee and was fed up to tell the truth. I said to the gentleman that I do not like the fact that I can walk in and be turned away with empty seats/ tables, two nice ladies walk in and receive the service we all should. In my eyes the lady staff member took one look at me and I probably didn't fit the image of the shop in her eyes, how very unprofessional.
I will never be going back to DropShot again and disgust in the level of service I received. In this day and age how are we still judging people on first looks? This is exactly what happened.
All I wanted to do was grab some breakfast with a coffee and get some work done. I walked out of DropShot, looked back to see this lady member of staff giving me daggers as she is eating her breakfast, very childish...
Read moreWent here for brunch today, aware that it is Wimbledon week and therefore would likely be busy. We were put on the wait list for a table, communication with the staff was good and they kept us updated as and when people were leaving and availability of tables etc. It was chaotic but not due to the staff, just a lot of people ordering take away, ransoms trying to use the toilet having just gotten off the tube and then people wanting food.
In short - it was worth the wait.
The staff were absolutely doing their best on a crazy busy day, when we got seated, they then offered us a bigger table if we wanted it which was appreciated. Coffee and chai latte were tasty and the food arrived pretty quickly which was surprising considering the number of meals on order. We had a variety of the dishes between us and everything was fantastic - the poached eggs a particular highlight, nice to see good quality ingredients being used.
All the staff were engaging which was even more impressive considering the pressure they were under.
I also thought it really kind, a well known celebrity came in for coffee and on speaking to one of the team he said “I just leave him too it, I assume he just wants to be left alone to drink coffee” - I know that sounds simple but would be easy for an independent venue to want to benefit from this, yet he let him get on (and rightly so) which was lovely to see.
An all round great experience and if I come to Wimbledon again, will definitely visit. Good work all - you were a great team and made a busy...
Read moreIve been to dropshot cafe before in Wimbledon branch and loved it very much. The food is lovely. The new menu is sooo good.
We chose from the Southfields special part of the menu and loved it.
The kids mini pancake with caramel sauce was in good portion and delicious (as my niece was enjoying it😂)
I highly recommend the Champion. I added poached egg to that too and it was heaven. I loved every ingredient for that dish and all the tastes blended perfectly together.
The breakpoint with salmon was good too. The hollandaise sauce was very good and the poached egg was poached perfectly.
The Rafa Na-Dill was a bit disappointing, we take out the cerem fraiche and then the rest was quite bland in taste. I guess would have been better with sourdough but it was good overall.
The French toast with coconut custard and lime syrup was delicious. Although the custard was not very coconuty and the lime syrup was more syrup. The lime and sour taste wasn’t there at all. The toast itself was very aromatic and juicy with the custard and was nice with coffee.
We ordered iced decaf americano and latte and you know the coffee here is amazing 🤩.
The only problem is the customer service. The kitchen is quite slow but to be honest they do amazing job, and thats why it tales a little bit longer.
The only downside was the water glasses which were not very clean.
I highly recommend to try any of their branches as it...
