The Olive Garden — Restaurant in London

Great Italian restaurant in Southfields. Parking available in the residential streets nearby. Be aware it can be quite busy for parking. Great food. Visited Olive Garden with 7 friends. Pre-booked a table and each of us had a different starter and main. All were superb. Very good price for what you receive. Good selection of wine, a few lager options (Perrino and San Miguel to name 2). No one at my table was disappointed. We averaged £40 a head. I will definitely visit again. Wait staff we attentive and kept us very happy. Be aware that the restaurant is a little small and some tables are quite close to each other. If you have wheelchair or mobility issues, let them know and I'm sure they'll provide an appropriate table. Decor was minimal, but typical for a traditional pasta/pizzeria with a few meat dishes...

We had dinner on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was about half full. Service was responsive and quick. We left however, quite confused as the food was bland and of poor quality and we had expectations of fresh authentic food from other reviews. We had the lasagne and risotto pescatora. The lasagne had the taste and texture of a ready meal. Whilst it came out piping hot, it was mushy and overly salty whilst lacking flavour. The risotto did not have the bite that it should and was also lacking flavour. The seafood must've been cooked from frozen (some pieces were cold) and the tomato rice barely tasted of tomato. Used to be very good but has recently declined. On my most recent order, there were nothing but problems. First the order was very late despite being 5 minutes away from us. When we rang the person on the phone danced around the truth answering the question whether the food had left and then lied that it had. Pasta was bland. Calzone (a folded pizza) arrived as a pizza not a calzone. Apparently this is because its gluten free but we received no warning before ordering and that also makes little sense to me.
