The Old Fields — Restaurant in London

I have frequented this pub on a number of occasions and think it's a jolly fine pub. Nice staff, nice service and good cameraderie between the locals. However, the last couple of times I have visited, there seems to be a slight stench that tickles my sense of smell. Similar to that of sewage. It really isn't very pleasant and it hits you right in the nostrils when you enter. Furthermore, when I visit the lavatories for a cheeky little tinkle, there is never any soap. I have started to bring my own Dove bar. To be perfectly frank, I'm going off Dove a little bit and investing in Carex which comes in a squeeze bottle, therefore not ruining the lining of my coat, which Dove used to do. ( I'll let you know how it goes). Only a couple of slight criticisms, hence why 2 stars have been knocked off your total. Very fixable one would...

UPDATED REVIEW: Unfortunately ever since the management changed, this place has gone down and it keeps getting worse. It's a shame really. Had several disappointing visits over the past few years and had no choice but to change my review. I haven't been here in months and not planning to visit anytime soon, if ever. Hope this pub goes back to its glory days soon.

The Old Fields is without doubt the nicest and best pub I have ever been to. I lived in Southfields for a decade and have been a customer for many years. I even had my wedding party at this pub, that's how good this place is. They serve great drinks and outstanding food. I have moved out of the area over a year ago and really miss this pub. Went here for a Christmas meal with friends. Table was decorated really nicely but that's where the positives end. Their Christmas menu stated that vegan options were available so that's what I pre-ordered with Elaine. However, when the food arrived the food was clearly not vegan (cream in soup and Yorkshire pudding with main). When I politely asked if it was vegan, the waitress and Elaine were incredibly rude and made me feel like a real inconvenience. If you can't offer vegan food, don't put it on the menu! Elaine also tried to overcharge us for drinks.

Seems like a lovely pub for drinks but don't go for food or good...
