Mediterranean seafood, harmoniously paired with locally sourced delights from the Bay of Biscay. Last night, my dining experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional.
From the moment we stepped into Milos London, the ambiance transported us to a world of refined sophistication. Nestled in the historic former British Columbia House in Westminster, just a stone's throw away from the vibrant Piccadilly Circus, the restaurant exudes a timeless elegance that seamlessly blends the allure of Greece with the charm of London. The grand wooden doors welcomed us into a haven of culinary delights.
The culinary focus at Milos London is centered around Mediterranean seafood, which was evident in the dishes we savored. The freshness of the fish, seemingly caught from the Mediterranean Sea, was undeniable. Each bite was a testament to the chef's commitment to using the finest ingredients. The perfectly grilled fish was accompanied by locally sourced vegetables from the Bay of Biscay, adding a delightful burst of flavor and freshness to every dish.
The attention to detail and artistry of the chef were evident in the beautiful composition of each plate. The dishes were delicately arranged, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to creating culinary masterpieces. The flavors were further enhanced by the use of fresh virgin olive oil, extraordinary feta cheese, and crisp cucumber and tomato, all of which elevated the taste to new heights.
To complement the exquisite cuisine, we indulged in an exceptional Savignon Blanc wine. Its crisp and refreshing notes harmonized perfectly with the flavors of the Mediterranean seafood, creating a truly memorable dining experience.
Throughout our meal, the attentive staff provided impeccable service, ensuring that every need was met. Their knowledge and passion for the cuisine added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. We left the restaurant feeling not only fully satisfied but also enchanted by the entire experience.
In conclusion, Milos London is a culinary gem that brings the taste of the Mediterranean to the heart of London. Established in 2015, the restaurant's commitment to freshness, quality, and attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. From the elegant ambiance to the exquisite dishes, it is a place where the flavors of the Mediterranean come alive. For anyone seeking a refined and unforgettable dining experience, a visit to Milos London is a must.nick...
Read moreFood was undoubtedly fresh and cooked well, but could invest further on dish develop. Unfortunately the service was not up to the expected standard. My friend and I booked a table on Christmas eve at 5pm, apparently the last slot available on the day. To our unpleasant surprise, we were time-restricted to 5 minutes from arrival upon giving our order as the kitchen was closing at 5pm. Not a welcoming beginning! But the staff (rudely) informed us that they left the kitchen open until 5:30 for our favour; assuming we deserved to have a cooked meal at a food restaurant. Thank you! First dish arrived and half way through it the second dish appeared gracefully on the table escorted by the question 'Would you like us to replace your dishes madame?'. Yes, they meant the dish that I was still eating from and very obviously I was still having food on. Why the rush people? We were the last slot and apparently the obstacle from calling it a day. So (not) respectful! At least they stood and heard when I ordered to time-space food dishes arriving. It is stressful telling pros how to do their job, however the necessity of expressing obvious remarks such that left a bitter taste which did not leave by the end of the meal. It did not help the case when the hostess delivered a lecture on sulphites vs gluten allergies, which was annoyingly not the answer if the cherry accompanying a dish was gluten-free (not a curiosity question, but a health and safety piece of information essential to a person having a gluten allergy). The third dish arrived with a 0 sec time difference when the previous dishes left the table. However peace was not a possibility due to the obvious display of zealous among 3 waiters (after the initial one asked) who, in what I could only describe as a wonderfully timely choreography of asking if they could take the main plate away (curious for time intervals? If yes, the answer is a perfect 2 second difference between each performance. Bravo!). Finally we paid and left at a perfect 18:45. The highlight was that two staff waited us by the door with our coats opened up for us to put on and leave. Would I ever go back again? No. Why would i ever risk spending 180 pounds for a bitter...
Read moreWe made an online reservation to celebrate a birthday. This was clear in the reservation notes after being prompted online. At arrival we were sat in a nice table in the middle of the restaurant. Everything seemed fine. We had a couple of questions about the menu and placed our orders and were really looking forward to our meal at this top-rated restaurant. We love Greek food and were expecting a nice experience. What we got hardly lived up to any reasonable expectation. We ordered a mix of starters including dips, stuffed courgette flowers and salad. The salad was fresh and lovely, but the dips were bland and a bit boring to be fair. Our mains were calamari prepared two ways and salmon. When they arrived we were surprised to have a plain calamari overcharged at the market price rather than the stuffed one that was ordered. The fried calamari was delicious though bland and I was embarrassed to ask for salt. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Service was perfunctory and neither warm nor attentive. We had to ask for the plate sitting on the table when we arrived to be replaced because it was chipped. How was this hazard overlooked by so many staff in the restaurant? We were genuinely disappointed that not a single person mentioned the special occasion we put in the reservation. Why does the online reservation portal ask if nobody will read it? Pretty much a waste of time. We ended up leaving early and continued to celebrate elsewhere. *We enjoyed our dessert after leaving Milos! Looking back, there was another table that left very quickly after being served their meal. We wondered why they left so fast. No one in the restaurant seemed eager to stay and order more. To sum up, service was OK, but not warm or inviting. The flavours were fresh, but neither stood out nor were better than the standards we enjoyed in Greece or in London. When we left we wished that we had gone elsewhere. The salad at £49 and courgette flowers at £32 for two were overpriced and did not represent any sort of fair value for...
