This place is a bit of a weird one; I find myself ordering from here so often but mainly for their coffee. The food is a bit of a hit and miss, I guess depending on whose cooking and what food you order.
Because I'm gluten intolerant, this place does understand the restrictions that apply, but in terms of meat the only available for me to eat safely is the Chicken Thighs and Rice. Their portions are generally large, which is great, but in terms of taste it's just 'alright'. Most of the time I find their food overcooked, I assume as a 'just incase' thing.
A few times I have decided to sacrifice my stomach to try other things, the Chicken Breast in Mushroom Cream sauce is delicious with the mashed potatoes, but I find that their chips are often bland, even dining in, but you could always just add salt.
I ate here with my boyfriend another time, ordering the Ribeye with Mushroom Sauce, I asked for Medium Rare and he Rare, but both steaks came out overcooked with the tiniest bit of pink - mine turned out to be more "rare" than his, which wasn't great. We ate it regardless since we didn't want to give the kitchen a hard time, but I do think they need to work on their cook times some more.
Though I've never tried their pasta, both my boyfriend and his friend enjoy it very much so I assume that's a good choice for first-time diners.
In terms of the dining experience, it is definitely lovely. The servers pretty much know their job, they work fairly hard and help you understand which food has allergens present and which don't, although sometimes needing to consult the manager of the floor. The place is beautifully lit, high ceilings and large dining space with an outdoor seating area as well.
Overall, I come back here mainly for their coffee which is wonderful. There was only one time where it was burnt out of the many I've had. I'm in love with their Spanish Latte, the only strange thing is that it's never consistent but delicious either way. Sometimes theres not enough condensed milk, sometimes there's too much, mostly it's perfect but I guess that depends on the barista.
Long-review-short, the dining experience is great, the coffee is delicious, but their food (meat) is usually overcooked. Perhaps go for pasta or try the other food items I hadn't mentioned. I would say that the prices are more in line with the portions they serve, but they should up th...
Read moreValentines day 2017 at approximately 19:00. I had brought a date to this restaurant. Was seated quickly. Order taken promptly. Drinks arrive a little slow. My dates food came first before our starter. 10-15 minutes later neither our starter or my main had arrived. My dates food was cooling down. I told her to eat as mine should be along shortly. 20 minutes later i flag a waitress and ask about the other two orders yet to arrive. The waitress says sorry and walks off to look into it. She comes back and says the starter will now be comming the same time as the main. over 30 minutes has gone by now and my date has finished eating. I go to the main bar where you can pay for your food. I explain the situation and how the evenings meal has been ruined. They present me with a bill for my dates food, our drinks and the starter that never arrived. I laughed and pointed out their error and that I want a reduction for the lack of starter and my own main. They then presented me with a new bill for the drinks only. They said sorry and not to judge them as they are busy. As far as I'm concerned being busy was no excuse and they wasn't even filled to capacity with plenty of free tables. I will not be going back ever again as I myself am in the service industry and know how simple it is to keep customers happy if things are managed correctly.
TLDR: Food didn't arrive. They tried to charge me for food I didn't receive. Valentines...
Read moreEzra’s in London came highly recommended, and we were hopeful for a great experience. Sadly, our visit was anything but satisfactory. We called ahead to confirm that the food was halal and were assured it was. However, upon ordering, we discovered that not all the meat met halal standards. This lack of transparency was deeply disappointing and unacceptable.
Despite the charming decor and the pleasant street view from the second floor, the overall experience was ruined by subpar service. The staff seemed indifferent, and we felt ignored and underserved. Our server, in particular, acted as though he had just woken up or simply couldn't be bothered to provide basic courtesy and attention.
The food itself was average at best—not the exceptional cuisine the reviews had promised. To add insult to injury, we were mistakenly given someone else’s bill. Make sure you check your bill before paying to avoid overpaying for someone else's meal. Additionally, a service charge was added without our permission. It is not necessary and can be removed upon request.
Overall, Ezra’s turned a hopeful outing into a sour experience. This was our first visit, and it will certainly be our last. Don't be fooled by appearances; there are far better places to...
