I was really looking forward to trying Fabulous Ice Fires in Dulwich, but sadly it was a huge letdown. We ordered two cups with two scoops each (four different flavours in total) and were charged £14, which already felt steep. What made it worse was the portion size. Each “scoop” was flattened and pressed into a tiny cup, leaving what could only have been about two tablespoons of each flavour. I’ve been to many ice cream parlours across London and this is the first time I’ve ever walked away feeling completely ripped off. For the price, I expected generous, proper scoops, not something that disappears in two bites. The ice cream itself tasted ok, one had freezer burn and felt like it had been refrozen, but the value for money just isn’t there. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Heard this mentioned on the Off Menu podcast, have been waiting to go for some time and it didn't disappoint. Amazing flavours on offer, service was friendly and the ice cream itself was genuinely much better quality than most ice cream at a similar price point. Can't wait to make another trip there!

Amazing ice cream, one of the best in London. All the flavours were delicious, especially the lychee one 😋. So delicious I didn’t even take a proper picture before I dived in!

A Hidden Gem in Dulwich – Fabulous Ice Fires is Truly Fabulous!

I had the pleasure of visiting Fabulous Ice Fires gelato shop in Dulwich, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment you step in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a treat like no other.

The gelato is absolutely divine—silky smooth, bursting with authentic flavors, and clearly crafted with care and high-quality ingredients. Their pistachio gelato is hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted—rich, nutty, and perfectly balanced (da Italiano: compete con i migliori gelati tradizionali, portando un pizzico di fantasia e creatività che li davvero rende unici).

Beyond the gelato, the customer service is impeccable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft, eager to help you choose from their creative flavor offerings.

Whether you’re a gelato connoisseur or just looking for a sweet escape, Fabulous Ice Fires is a must-visit destination in Dulwich. I can’t recommend it highly enough—every scoop is a little...

Had been looking forward to trying this place for over a year since I first heard about it on Off Menu but sadly did not meet expectations. Whilst the ice cream was tasty (had the hokey pokey with a surprising citrus-y twist), the service was appalling. Perhaps the owner had been having a bad day but the fact that my feelings have been shared by reviewers even 9 months ago suggests there may be something more chronic. Despite there being no other customers in the shop, we felt unwelcomed, rushed and even patronised when I asked about the mocha (to which the response was "well it's coffee, so if you like coffee, you'll like this"). Had I not gone out of my way to visit this place, I may have just not bothered to even try...
