Review from December 2022: We visited here again, mostly because of the convenient location in relation to Walthamstow Wetlands, and partly in the hope that the food might have improved. Wrong. We had roast lamb and it was by far one of the saddest roasts we've ever had. They called it roast lamb rump on the menu and it was just awful. Mostly inedible and chewy. I wouldn't mind if it were cheap but I'd expect a lot better for the price. Had their brownie with espresso martini chocolate sauce. I don't know how to describe it other than a solid block of chocolate ganache. It was nothing like a brownie! If Classic Inns are going to continue trying to run this place then they need a more streamlined menu so as to offer better quality food. The multiple menus are too vast.

Oh, and after years of asking, there is still nowhere to securely park bicycles outside the pub. Just an expanse of empty car parking spaces.

I'm hoping that someone who know what they're doing comes along and takes over the pub. It has great potential and is well located. It could be a really good establishment. The only thing it has going for it at the moment is the friendly staff and the range of drinks. And the garden.

Review from July 2022: Been going here for years with the family after a walk or bike ride around the paddocks, wetlands and the marshes. Friendly staff, lovely garden and great location but let down the quality of the food, the absence of cycle parking facilities and all too often the cask ales aren't on sale. There's no excuse for not having decent cycle parking facilities. The oversized car park is always more than half empty. I know people can and do take bikes into the garden but what should we do with bikes during the colder and wetter months? For a while a few years ago, the food was much better - especially the fish n chips - but it's gone downhill again and isn't great value. Also, during our last visit I told the staff the soap in the gents toilets was empty and went back over an hour later and it was still empty. Which is poor considering we're supposed to be washing our hands more. Would love to this place improved. It has tonnes of potential in...

This was my first visit to this place. Located very near Tottenham Hale with parking too, costs £2 for 3 hours but you can redeem this when ordering food.

I've heard good things and was excited to experience it all.

We had a lovely table right by the window with the sun shining in.

Although it wasn't made clear that you order at the bar counter, QR code or if the server would take your order.

I got up to ask, ended up going to the bar to order. Out of all of us, I placed the order first, but for some reason my food took ages, like over 25 minutes. I had to get up again to enquire about. For a Saturday afternoon, most items were sold out or unavailable.

Whilst sitting down, another table arrived and sat next to us. They were given complimentary santa hats and crackers but we had to ask, not sure about the disparity.

We ordered the sharing platter as a starter, £19 for a small Camembert cheese, 2 slices of garlic bread. As they ran out of wings, we had extra calamari. They arrived over cooked and dry, certainly not worth the money, very disappointed, it looked pathetic.

The main took absolutely ages, I had to chase a few times whilst my friends had almost eaten theirs. When it finally arrived it was salty and the burger was burnt. We were too hungry to send it back. We ordered 2 kids meals, same dish, why did one take extra 25 mins to arrives, exact same thing happened with their desserts, why?

Again had to wait absolutely ages for dessert only to be told the kitchen couldn't get the fondant consistency right so we had to choose an alternative, yet they ran out of the crumble.

Overall it was disappointing and underwhelming.

The starter was the biggest disappointment and not worth the money.

Probably...

Nice place to sit with friends and drink but not for food. Also they need definitely bike rugs for chain our bikes! Firstly ordered fish cod and chips which was runout! and paid for burger with cheese and pointed no bacon and he repeated no bacon! but received burger with bacon and instead of chips they serviced with fries. so we changed and I pointed to waitress I hope chef may cook new burger because contaminated with bacon and religious thing I can not eat bacon. After 5 mins received a burger which extremely overcooked on the grill and even burger bun burnt! so couldn't eat and enjoyed. When lady( probably manager) taking the plates from our table informed her burger and bun burnt . She checked and said " I will let the chef next time don't cook to much" Her answer was rude and instead of apologise just gone. However we had nice day with friends and ordered 2 Cappuccinos. He brought 2 americanos with cold milk on the side and one was almost half!! Asked him cappuccino right, and he confirmed yes 2 cappuccinos and left to the table(please see pictures)! Just thought he hasn't seen in his life what is cappuccino. afterwards went to bar again and asked to her who took my order cappuccino with foam right and she apologised and said she will do cappuccino for us. Again same guy done but for now americano on top bit foam islands floating he serviced. Me and my friend were tried with their service. terrible experience and probably I will be there only for just cold drink...

Me and my friend decided to pop in as the weather was warm and we saw lots of good reviews about this place. It was our first time here and i ordered from a set menu and got the calamari starter and chicken burger with chips for the main. I was abit disappointed that the table was quite sticky, there was so more sweet potatoe fries or thick fries and that most of the desserts were unavailable. There was only one gentleman serving and he was polite. We did more staff around walking, checking for empty glasses. The team were quite casual with each other and you could see they like their job. This pub is quite big and can seat alot of people. There are also hidden spots in which you could sit if you wanted to have some privacy which so nice. We did see a variety of customers ranging from teenagers to the elderly who wanted to come in for some tea. The food was ok but the waiting time for the food was terrible. We waited nearly two hours for our starter, main and dessert to arrive. We had to get up to ask staff for our food once we were done. We also had to ask for sauces as it wasn't brought to us. Apart from the terrible waiting time I would say this pub is a good local spot and to the staff are friendly. The toilet weren't so clean and did smell. This could have been cleaned/ checked more often.
