Unfortunately, there were so many things wrong here. It was our 1st time trying it out. It was an Arsenal game night so obviously was going to be busy but this wasn't anything to do with our bad experience. We ordered a bottle of white wine, and even though we questioned the waitress as she opened it, we got served a red. We were then offered an opened bottle of the rosé version of the white which wasn't available. Opted for an unopened alternative white.
I pointed out that I have a tomato allergy. We ordered 2 starters to share. Corn fritter which came with avocado and coriander. It turned up with guacamole! with tomatoes!!!!! The meat croquettes were a game of find the meat. My main of chicken, chorizo, smoked corn with grilled 'baby jam' (baby gem lettuce) arrived minus the chorizo and smoked corn. These were replaced with crispy bacon and tinned sweetcorn. The grilled lettuce had been only very briefly introduced to the grill with very minimal charring (mostly none at all). No flavour, herbs or spuces. Adding tons of pepper and some salt improved it 10 fold. It was one of the most boring tasteless meals I have ever had.
It was probably their busiest night of the week because of the football and seemingly they had 2 new staff. I don't think this excuses so many errors. It shouldn't make any difference. The two tables either side of us also had complaints/issues. As a gesture of goodwill, the chicken dish was removed from the bill and we were offered a 10% discount. We still spent near £80 and weren't satisfied. I pointed out that we could go to any other restaurant along the Holloway Road and pay half that and be very satisfied. Unfortunately, we would not even give Filo...

The menu is a love letter to Brazilian comfort food: golden coxinhas, rich feijoada with crispy pork belly, and slow-cooked beef ribs that melt in your mouth. The moqueca — fish and prawn stew — is fragrant and full of depth, and the Sunday roast twist with pão de queijo-style Yorkshire puddings is pure genius.
Drinks are just as joyful: caipirinhas come in playful variations, and the cocktails are crafted with flair. On weekends, live music fills the space — sometimes planned, sometimes spontaneous — creating a festive, almost island-like atmosphere. You’ll find staff chatting with guests, friends sharing plates, and maybe even a saxophonist stealing the show.
Verdict: Filó Brazil is a slice of Rio in North London. Bold flavours, soulful vibes, and a place that feels like a party you’re...

Ordered picanha, dourada, short rib croquettes, and fried tilapia. Food took an age to come (all orders seemed to be sitting on the pass for a few minutes before being served), and was rubbish all around. Picanha was tough, the fat cap flabby and unrendered, no crust whatsoever, completely underseasoned, and covered in a tasteless sauce. The accompanying "chips" were soft and tasteless.
Dourada was undercooked, no crispiness to the skin, and served with a pretty unappealing pureed bean sauce and a mountain of adequate garlic rice.
Croquettes were sludgy and pretty tasteless, a remarkably bad use of short rib. And the tilapia was dry, underseasoned, and bland.
My dining partner really liked the music (I felt it was overwhelmingly loud such that you couldn't talk), but thought the food was so bad they barely ate any of it.
Bill was £76 for 2 people (starter and main each, 1 portion of ice cream, no drinks), which would have been totally reasonable had the...
